On the drive out our guide Thomas shared so many insights and history it made it very interesting. The midevil town was very nice and fun for shopping. We got to go through the castle and see the big trophy barrels. One highlight was to have explained the hobby gardens on the way back to Frankfurt. Thomas is a great guide and Visitor was exceptional to work with. The only thing is I want to go back for a longer period of time.

Heidelberg was a nice visit and enough time for photos and lunch. Very picturesque. Had a walk around old town before driving to Rothenburg. Rothenburg was a bit overrated. The Christmas Village is spectacular but time was too short and many things we could not see due to closing time. Had a good walk on city walls. Guide was super on the ball and we covered more than 20,000 steps for that day. Could actually cut out some parts and give us time for a rest or coffee at Rothenburg. Was pretty breathless at the end of trip and then we are on way home. Kudos to our guide Peter who had boundless energy. Just giving some pointers to improve experience.

Very picturesque. Peter was a fabulous guide. Exactly what I think of when I think traditional German town. Would recommend.

Peter, our tour guide had a brilliant sense of humour and was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the sites we visited.

While this excursion held a lot of promise, it ended up being subpar due to logistical aspects along with the group dynamic itself. The day is a 12 hour day, but 6+ hours of the day is spent sitting in a bus (1+ hour from Frankfurt to Heidelberg, 2.5+ hours from Heidelberg to Rothenburg, and nearly 2.5 hours back to Frankfurt). Essentially, half the time was riding in the bus, without much narrative while on the road. Once at each location, there was a lack of itinerary that made the time spent seem inefficient. While the tour guide was friendly, he was soft spoken and quiet, which made it hard to hear the information he was sharing. There could have been more information provided as well. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short for us, especially given the price of the tour.

Boris was an awesome tour guide! So knowledgable and passionate about the area we visited; quite a historian plus gave great recommendations for restaurants, shops and sights to see. Really enjoyed the whole experience.

Thomas was a great guide giving us lots of history about each city and the countryside. The only drawback was there was not enough time to explore each town on our own. Each city is really better toured individually. We tried to schedule just Rothenberg, but we were cancelled out.

We had a great time. It was a wonderful way to see a couple of traditional German cities in a day. Thomas, our guide, was great and it was nice to have a very small group. I highly recommend.

Cities and attractions were great! Only negative of the trip was the transportation. Our group of 3 was seated in last row of van (with 3 rows of seats). We are each over or near 60 years of age. With the distance from driver and noise from wheels on the road, it was difficult to hear our excellent tour guide, Thomas. Recommend some kind of small sound system/amplifier so folks seated in the back don't miss out on interesting information.
