The guide/commentary. JohnS gave a most interesting, entertaing and informative commentary the whole time that we were pottering through the most attractive countryside. Giving us background on the area and its' features, history and and some more quirky snippets. Clear information on where to go for the best appreciation of views and clear instructions on returning to the bus. The trip on the North Moors railway was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. Thoroughly enjoyable. We recommend it heartily!

Our tour into the North York Moors & Whitby was led by John S. he was a brilliant driver/guide and had a wealth of knowledge that made the tour thoroughly enjoyable. After getting home and looking at the map, we couldn’t believe how many places in the moors we travelled to, we really felt we saw as much as we could. We had plenty of stops to take photos and explore different locations. The moors were beautiful, had a fun steam train ride from Grosmont to Whitby and a short but lovely time at Whitby - where we walked down the steps from the abbey, had fish and chips and bought some famous Whitby Jet. We felt we really got value for money and John was the highlight of the tour - well recommended to anyone!

I went on this tour with my 84 year old Mum. It was such a good day out for both of us. Can’t recommend this highly enough as a way to explore, even for car-owning locals, like us. John, the driver/guide, had so many stories to tell about the places we saw, and was so well-informed. We’re planning to book our next tour very soon.

Awesome, attractive sights throughout the North York Moors and Whitby tour. Our driver John was an incredible and super fun tour guide. Along the way, we were told fascinating facts and stories about the history of York. Although it was cloudy as we went up to the top of the steepest hills in England, we were still able to admire the moors through the clouds and the sight was honestly breathtaking at such a high altitude! On our way back to York, John quizzed us on our new knowledge of the York history, and we were lucky enough to win the special Whitby magnet. To end off the journey, we had a great time singing along to John’s favourite Beatle song which made everyone on the coach giggle! The North York Moors and Whitby tour was definitely worth the visit- I would totally recommend it!

Barry & Ben were awesome tour guides! So friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I would highly recommend this tour. Beautiful scenery. I enjoyed all of the stops we had along the way to Whitby. Thank you!!

Every stop was worthwhile. John, our guide, was as knowledgeable and engaging as is humanly possible. He offered an educational and extremely interesting commentary throughout while performing wildly difficult driving maneuvers for a 10 passenger van on tiny country roads. He pointed out pheasants, red grouse, a barn owl, and different breeds of sheep. His love for the history of this influential and beautiful part of the world is very evident. He was extremely solicitous of the person with walking disabilities. The steam engine portion of the trip was particularly lovely. Everyone loved this tour!

We had a wonderful day touring a bit of the north Yorkshire Dales, primarily the moors and Whitby, including a short steam locomotive ride into Whitby. Our driver and guide, John, was excellent. Entertaining and informative commentary the whole way, very easy to understand, with reasonable stops to stretch our legs and look around. Excellent fish and chips in Whitby! If you are staying in York and looking for a day trip, we highly recommend this tour. I suspect their other tour offerings are very good as well.

The views, Byland Abbey and at scenic spots in Farnland. Whitby stop could have been longer or adding a stop at a local farm shop to try the famed Yorkshire dairy products. Our guide was knowledgeable on geology and local history.

Great trip hosted by our driver Trevor. He was so knowledgeable, knows the history of the area really well, gives good tips to enjoy the day is flexible and accommodating. Took my 70 year old mum, who is hard of walking, he helped her lots. Great way to cover a vast space and get to enjoy it as a passenger so you don’t miss it all when driving, highly recommend

My wife and I enjoyed a terrific full day tour with John as our tour guide. John's wealth of knowledge about the history, geography and politics of the area with lots of interesting little stories made the day for us. He was such a kind host and showed a very obvious love for the area. I can't imagine a better tour guide.
