This is a nice but short lift considering the price ticket. The view is amazing on the top and there are some nice places to eat.We just found it a bit expensive for two families with kids.

Just do it. Extremely memorable experience with incredible scenic views. You can stop and visit St Theresa's Church along the way. We had to buy more tickets to go higher up so be prepared for that. Amazing fun.

its just the first part of the journey, but you get to the top of Innsbruck for a great view. Also, the stations are really cool from the architectural viewpoint!

A wonderful experience but be aware that this is only the very first stage of your journey and if you want to go to the Top of Innsbruck. You will need another ticket at approx £35 to go right to the top. I bought the funicular ticket online and didn’t realise it only covered the first part of the journey.

Took the cog rail so we could enjoy the view above Innsbruck and we enjoyed the ride and the view. Dissapointed that all the restaurants except a cafe were closed on Tuesdays ss we had hoped to have lunch while enjoying the view.

It was a lovely day. So the pictures from the top of the city are amazing. I really recommend it. Busy but it worth it.

The funicular was nice but was going a lot slower than we thought it would. It has a couple of stops which makes the experience less exciting than if it would go all at once at the top. Last but not least the location shown in TripAdvisor is where it will take you and not where it starts therefore confusing the tourist on where to go.

This is our second ride within the past few years, this time with three young grandchildren, and we would definitely recommend it, despite the stiff price. The fact that the Innsbruck entrance to the funicular was a short walk from our hotel was a pleasant bonus. The remaining comments probably aren't relevant to most readers. Our only problems were with employees, the first being a rather rude ticket vendor who seemed for no apparent reason to take an immediate dislike to us, despite the fact my wife speaks rather fluent German. It's interesting to feel insulted while forking over a bunch of Euros. The second occurred when we encountered a minor quasi-medical emergency partway up. One of our party was in rather urgent need of water to accompany medication and we had unfortunately not packed enough. I wandered into the restaurant and thought I spied a self-service cooler. As I reached into it I was sternly reprimanded and told to wait outside. It's not often that a guy in his 70s gets a "time out" - at least that was my impression as I stood there while servers walked back and forth in front of me. I explained politely and repeatedly that I only wished to buy water. I was eventually told "table service only." I sat down at a nearby vacant table and was eventually served. I had the distinct feeling I was being punished. My wife and I have spent enough time in Austria (one entire year for her) that I don't believe this to be typical treatment, other than perhaps a rather slavish adherence to rules. I was perfectly satisfied eventually to be allowed to pay seven Euros for two small bottles of water (it's a restaurant after all) and rush it back to my family 10 minutes after I'd entered the establishment, but I admit to being offended by the uncaring attitudes of no fewer than three employees, despite my making it clear that it was a matter of some urgency to us. If you need water, make sure to pack your own. Still a spectacular ride.

Its a cable car, and the view is great but the car was packed so I consider it mostly a quick and convenient way to get part way up the mountain from the city center.
