Your Itinerary

Karlskirche

The Art Mart in front of spectacularly illuminated St. Charles’ church is full of crafted gifts, traditional foods and a playground for kids.

St. Stephen's Cathedral

St. Stephen’s Cathedral is surrounded by a market that features typical Viennese things like snow-globes. The fragrances of Christmas are all around.

Graben and Kohlmarkt

(Pass by)

Kohlmarkt and Graben are part of Vienna’s “Golden Quarter”. The cities most famous coffee-roster “Julius Meinl” and the most famous pastry maker “Demel” stand out against all the luxury shops.

The Hofburg

(Pass by)

St. Michael’s Gate is the most impressive access to the Hofburg Palace, center of power for more than seven hundred years.

Am Hof

(Pass by)

Here the iconic “Speckstandl” stands out – sausages, hams, bacon and hearty bites and all the treasures of a smoke house.

Freyung

The “Old Vienna Christmas Market” at Freyung is for many the most atmospheric one in town. Surrounded by some of the most impressive family palais, the square still has the charm of an old market square.

Freyung Passage

My wife and I are quite familiar with Vienna as we've visited the city several times and have grown to love the beautiful Christmas markets. To make our latest visit even more special, we decided to book a private tour of the markets with a local guide. Our goal was to experience the holiday atmosphere like true locals, gain some insights, and learn about the differences between the various markets. Luckily, we were able to book Brigitte as our guide. From the moment we met her in the hotel lobby, we felt like we were meeting an old friend. Brigitte took us to five different markets, and along the way, showed us some hidden gems that we would never have discovered on our own. We had a wonderful time with Brigitte, and before we said our goodbyes, she gave us some fantastic restaurant recommendations that came in very handy. Thank you, Brigitte, for helping us create such beautiful memories. We look forward to seeing you again when we return to your stunning city.

Our tour guide Brigitte was excellent. When we arrived at the meeting point, she was already there waiting for us. It was a rainy night, however, her knowledge of the area, and gems of the city, allowed us to see the markets, stay relatively dry, and seek shelter at historic sites when the rain or wind was too strong. This tour was our first activity in Vienna, and a great start, given her extensive local knowledge. I highly recommend her services.

Hello, While our guide was able to help us negotiate the streets of Vienna and find the Xmas markets, we did not feel that she was engaged or enthusiastic about the markets. Of course the markets were crowded, but she did not make the visits interesting or fun. We would have like to hear about the history of the markets and to have had suggestions about food to try etc.. Instead, we felt as though it was about her personal feelings regarding crows, quality of food and better places to visit..

Tour guide met us at our hotel. We criss crossed old town. He provided insights into some of the local sculptures and architecture. We had a sausage from a street vendor. Visited Stephens Platz, city hall and a few hidden gems along the way. Tour guide has a sense of humor.
