Product description
Visit: Stift Durnstein, Duernstein 1 Town Center, Durnstein 3601 Austria
The exhibition “Discovery of the Precious” enables visitors to access the former Dürnstein Abbey. The baroque world of thought runs through the entire design of the house. This is brought closer to the visitor in the three areas "the good, the beautiful, the true" and it quickly becomes clear that the ideas behind it still have their meaning today.
The Gothic columned hall is dedicated to the theme of “doing good”. A model of the city of Dürnstein illustrates the varied history of the city and monastery. In the second part of the exhibition "Preserve the beautiful", visitors are invited to think about their own ideas of the beautiful and to write them down. From there it goes up to the upper floor, which gives insights into “looking for the real thing”. The replica of the tabernacle of the collegiate church in the form of a rotatable ball, together with an earth and sky globe, expresses that man is part of the big picture.
