This was a great day! We met Karin in Vienna and drove with her to the Wachau Valley where we took a three hour hike. The views from the trail were amazing: farms and vineyards everywhere. We stopped near the end for a light lunch and local wine. Karin is a wonderful guide: she has "curated" many hikes of various terrains/levels of difficulty. She was great at describing the local history, commerce, etc, and could adjust the hike to our speed. I give this activity my highest recommendation: it's suited for hikers of all levels (and "newbies" who may want to try hiking), and is set in an extremely beautiful venue. It is a great daytrip from Vienna.

Loved this hike with Karin. We travelled Europe by train and thus we are stuck in the cities so it was really nice to get out in the country. Karin is absolutely wonderful guide. She is super knowledgeable and gave us quite a lot of knowledge about many things, either the mountains or just Austria in general. She was happy to walk at the slowest pace of us (me) and didnt make us feel rushed or pressure. Gave us choices at certain points of we wanted to go to the top of the ruins for example Or just admire them from the base. As far as strenuous, I’d rate the hike moderate. At times the trail is very steep with a drop off to the side so I needed to slow down to get through that. At times there was a rope to hold when the trail was narrow with steep drop off. We did get caught in a rainstorm but fortunately it blew over and we were mostly dry by the end. I do recommend to bring 2 water bottles per person. We had just one each and I felt like I had to pace myself with it. It’s a 3 hr hike so once you start there’s no going back so you need to be committed. I am a 59 yr old average fitness for an American and it was good for me.

After a week of bus tours, museums and castles, this trip was a great change of scenery. Karin was amazing, guiding us on an incredible hike and allowing us to soak up the local character of the Bavarian countryside. Highly recommend and will definitely do again!

This hike and my time with Karin was an absolute highlight my trip! Karin was very responsive and thorough with my many questions from my trip planning stage all the way through to day of the hike and even afterwards! Great knowledge of the hiking trail, destination, Viennese culture, and wonderful recommendations. I learned a lot. Karin is also awesome at taking breathtaking photos! I wish the weather cooperated for us to do more hikes! I will for sure be in touch again whenever I come back to Vienna. Thank you so much, Karin, for a wonderful time :)

I had a great time hiking with Karin!

I took the wrong train so I arrived 30 min late. I called Karin as soon as I knew I was going to be late and she was very nice and was willing to adjust the schedule. Karin was also super friendly. We were able to build up rapport from the beginning and chatted about various topics from technology to daily life. It felt as if I was hiking with an old friend! I was also surprised by her knowledge of the plants and the history of the area. On our way back, we stopped by a local winery, where the food and the wine were both awesome. As a person who couldn’t speak German, I felt very grateful that Karin patiently explained all the menu items to me. Karin also went above and beyond and sent me a list of restaurants, cafes, and bars to check out! (I took her recommendations and was able to confirm that Karin knew the best spots in the city well!!!)

I highly recommend Karin’s hiking tours no matter you are traveling alone or in a group. You’ll be pleasantly surprised! ; )

Our family of 4 (including two daughters with hiking experience, 7 and 10) was lucky enough to tour this beautiful area with Karin in July of 2022. The pictures honestly don't do it justice - this is a jaw-droppingly gorgeous area and an incredible opportunity to unwind and recharge while getting a little exercise in at the same time! (Vienna sort of demands the exercise - Apfelstrudels, anyone?) Karin is an insightful, friendly, and well-informed guide with tons of experience in the area - a truly lovely person to spend the day with. She made sure that our group moved at a comfortable pace and we stopped often to take pictures, eat some freshly-picked apricots, and even meet-and-greet with a local horse! After the hike, we stopped at a local Heuriger and enjoyed a delicious Grüner Veltliner with local meats, cheeses, and - yeah - more strudel! Thanks Karin, we'll see you next time!

Karin is a wonderful guide; she is very kind and has a great sense of humor. She explained many things about Austrian culture throughout the day and during the hike she pointed out many different plants which helped us really feel connected to the environment. The hike was a bit tough for me at times, but I think the difficulty was consistent with the description of the activity and the tips provided online. There were really only a few sections that were steep, but it is a pretty long hike with many gradual ups and downs. Karin was really patient when I needed to go more slowly at times. We also stopped frequently for pictures. The views were so beautiful. It is an experience I will always remember!

We had an amazing time hiking in Wachau with Karin! The hike itself was beautiful and you notice something different in the views at every turn. Karin did a great job in answering questions ahead of time so we could be prepared on the hike, and she shared her background and how she started her business, which was both fun to hear and made us feel comfortable traveling with her. She was very in tune with making sure the pace of the hike was okay, and let us stop to take lots of photos. There was even an opportunity to try local wine when the hike was finished. All in all, this was an incredible experience and we highly recommend it or any excursion with Karin!
