Hard to get 3 tweens to like anything (🤣) but they all really enjoyed our morning here. Recommended time is 1hr which is about right, lots of really interesting things to learn and the hands on activities for the kids were great.

Australians are known for being more than a little sports mad so it's hardly a surprise that there is a national sporting museum. And Melbourne is often described as the sports capital of Australia so at the MCG you can go along to the Australian Sports Museum. It's not free nor is it particularly cheap and part of me wishes it was even larger but it is well organised and nicely laid out. There is a distinct focus on AFL and cricket but other sports get a look in too. There is a large and quite inclusive wall of fame so whatever your sport if an Australian has done well in it then their name will probably be there. There is - unsurprisingly - a gift shop on your way out. And it should be noted that if you just by a ticket to the museum you don't get any tour of the MCG - that's an extra. In terms of location there is no reason why a moderately healthy person can't walk to/from the CBD to out here as it's mostly flat.
