We had a wonderful full day (from 6:30 am until 11:30 pm) bird safari in the Sunshine Coast area (including hinterland) with Steve. Steve is a great guide and guy to spend the day with, showed us so many birds in different biotopes and had lots of knowledge to share (also tips for the rest of our trip). Definitely worth your time and money!

I have just had a fantastic days birding with Steve, from start to finish it was a first class day, there is so much to see around the Noosa area, It was a privilege to be in the company of such an experienced birder. And , Winnie’s mid morning cake and lunch was fabulous , thank you Winnie. I most definitely would go out with Steve again, if you are looking for a first class birding experience when visiting Noosa, do look up Steve and Tropical Treks. Thank you Steve for a brilliant day.

Steve came to knock on the door at the exact pickup time in the early morning where I booked tour. Together with other two passengers, we were driven to various places to do birding throughout the day. I was thrilled to have sightings over 70 species of birds in one day. Steve has deep knowledge of regional birds species, as well as regional conservation management, where I have benefited a lot from. I would sign up again if I ever come back to Noosa! Last but not least, the breakfast and lunch provided were very yummy, healthy and homemade! It's absolutely the highlight of my trip, that I would recommend to everyone.

We went with Steve on the Birdwatching full day trip. We started early, at about 7 am and had a very enjoyable day, finishing after 5 pm, almost at dark. We enjoy birding but are not real "serious" birders and didn't know much about the local birds when we started the tour. Steve tailored the day to our interests and that of the other person on the tour. He was pleasant, interested in his work, very knowledgeable about the local birds, and was great at spotting the birds. We went to quite a few sites, didn't have excessive down time despite driving around the area, and ended up seeing almost 80 species for the day. We also had the best lunch I've ever had on a birding trip, compliments of Steve's wife, Winnie. This tour has been the highlight so far of our month long tour of the area and is definitely something people with an interest in birds should consider if in the Brisbane area.

Had a most enjoyable and rewarding day bird watching with Steve, easily organised via the Tropical Treks website with his wife Winnie just a couple of days earlier. As a relative beginner I appreciated being shown how to listen to and observe birds in various locations at a gentle pace. We didn't have the best weather, and it really didn't matter, because Steve's knowledge and flexibility meant he could readily change plans. So we drove when it rained, had lunch in a sheltered spot and make the most of the sunshine. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious and the whole outing was totally nourishing. Highly recommended.

I'd recommend this outing for anyone who's interested in Bird Watching. Steve has an in depth knowledge of where to find the birds and their habits. He has a very sharp eye and pointed out birds that I hadn't noticed. He also knows their calls and so knows what birds are in each area. We started out near the beach at Coolum and then went in an anti-clockwise circle through Peregian, Doonan, Mapleton, Wappa Dam, Yandina, Bli Bli and back to Coolum. The car was very comfortable, the morning tea and lunch were good and the Bunyee Walk and seeing the two Bunya Pines and all the Elks and Stagehorns was a bonus. We also saw Kangaroos.

We had a great trip with Steve in April 2018. We were the only two booked on the tour, so were lucky enough to get a personal pick-up/drop-off from/to our accommodation. It was a fairly early start (7am), but this is needed when birdwatching to see as much as possible before it gets too hot. We returned at about 5.30pm. Steve's car was large and very comfortable, with big windows which made spotting things on the drive really easy. We stopped at 6 different places (between Noosa and Moolalaba in the sunshine coast), ranging from the side of the road, to beautiful national parks - we even saw a waterfall and beautiful rainbow. There was a minimal amount of walking, the longest being about 30-45 minutes, so you don't ever get to hot (or wet if it's raining!). This also means that you can leave a lot of your gear in the car and just take small amounts with you on the walks. Steve was very patient if we wanted to take photos of the birds, or to stop and look at a bird that we'd driven past. A brief idea of the sort of birds you might expect to see: Kookaburra, Swamp Harrier, Great Egret, Jacana, Nankeen Night Heron, Paradise Riflebird, Azure Kingfisher, etc. Steve was incredibly knowledgeable and we really enjoyed his company. Not only to talk about the wildlife, but also to get an Australian's view on other items of interest (such as the Commonwealth Games, recycling, quality of life in Australia, etc.) Steve also provided us with a bird list the next day, so we could remember everything we'd seen/heard. We even saw a kangaroo which was great! Booking the trip was really easy, and we had constant email communication with Winnie about our trip. The food that was provided was delicious (we requested a vegetarian option), morning tea with some cake, then a great lunch (frittata and salad with fresh fruit). I cannot recommend this trip enough, a must if you're a birdwatcher staying in the Sunshine Coast.

Highly recommended for anyone interested in seeing a wide variety of birds in multiple habitats in the beautiful sunshine coast area. Steve was very personable and knowledgeable, the tour was well organised and very good value for money and the food was delicious. This day was the highlight of my holiday in the sunshine coast hinterland.
