We loved this guided walk with Melinda and Hohepa - it was so interesting and we learned heaps. It is such a beautiful area and it was great to have firsthand input from locals about the fires and also the work done by local environmental groups. We learned about trees, middens and aboriginals, fish, snakes, bush tucker, and lots more! This was besides traversing interesting conversations about Australian culture and some of the parallels between and differences from New Zealand. Their previous experience in the national museum of NZ showed, along with much learning and wisdom. They were on time and good communicators - in fact Melinda put on a tour specially so we could go on one before we left the area.

We had a great day joining this walking sightseeing tour in Conlola. Melinda & Joe are a very friendly person and experience tour guide, they did tell us lots of happening in the local area, this tour takes us almost 90 minutes to complete. We all 12 people had a great time there and take lots of photos. (Tips - For the toilet location is near the Caravan Park from the meeting place or 3 minutes walk to nearby Tennis Courts) As the Fish & Chip shop owners will not be allowed visitors to use it.

Thank you Melinda and Joe for this tour and sharing your experiences and local areas of Lake Conjola! We especially appreciated you accommodating our late arrival, exploring the hidden locals only path, and learning about the lakes mechanisms and history!

Great short walking tour at Conjola Lake and beach. We have never been to the area before and the tour was full of insights into local flora and fauna, history of the area and much more. The guides Mel and Joe are locals who are very easy going and share their wealth of knowledge about the region. The tour is run Covid safe (we were just 2 persons on the tour and there is a Covid safe check-in procedure etc.). The area is great to spend the rest of the day there, we explored nearby beaches and can highly recommend to take the time after the tour to explore a bit further or relax at the beach.

Family of five from Sydney, three children aged 16, 13 and 11, first visit to Lake Conjola. Pleasant stroll around the lake and beach with knowledgable and friendly guides. Recommended.

Our favourite part was the history of the area next was learning more about the local fauna and flora. When we asked questions they answered everything. Joe and Belinda are very easy going and delightful to just chat with. My advice for people going on this tour is taking binoculars for sure.
