Going the reverse route is clearly the best way to go. Particularly so if Paul is your driver/guide. He was delightful. The drive is remarkably beautiful and incredibly diverse. Highly recommend

Our day spent with Steve from Great Private Tours exploring the Great Ocean Road was nothing short of spectacular! From the iconic 12 Apostles and the breathtaking Loch Ard Gorge to the serene beauty of Apollo Bay and numerous scenic stops along the way, every moment was a delight. Steve's professionalism, punctuality, and friendly demeanor made a long day feel like an adventure with an old friend. Not only did Steve ensure we saw the best views and hidden gems, but he also shared fascinating insights about each location, enriching our experience. The lunch included in our tour was fabulous, featuring delicious local cuisine that was a highlight on its own. Steve’s attention to detail and his eagerness to accommodate our interests made the entire day feel personalized and special. I'm giving this experience a solid 10+ out of 10 and would not hesitate to recommend Steve and Great Private Tours to anyone looking to explore the Great Ocean Road or any other tour. Whether you're a first-timer in Melbourne or a local wanting to see the sights through new eyes, Steve's tour is an absolute must. Thank you, Steve, for an unforgettable day! I can't wait to book another tour.

Steve was a great guide from the moment he picked us up at our hotel. By going in reverse we avoided the congested sites from tour buses and vans. We stopped to feed alpacas, toured a great wildlife sanctuary where we saw koalas in the wild, and of course the Great Ocean Road. Twelve (in name only) Apostles and Loch Ard were amazing. Steve provided excellent commentary. The vehicle was superb, veryy comfortable. I highly recommend working with Steve.

We stopped at multiple iconic spots to view the magnificent Twelve Apostles and Lord Arc Gorge. The visit to the Wildlife Wonders is particularly impressive - we got the chance to see different animals close-up while not enclosing the animals. It's really an authentic experience to get in touch with the nature. Most importantly, the warmth and kindness of Dean are really appreciated!

Highly recommend Great Private Tours. My husband and I booked 2 days. First day was Great Ocean Road....Apollo Bay, 12 Apostles, Rainforest and the list goes on. Our driver Errol was fabulous at sharing details about the country and the sites. Second day was Mornington Peninsula, Bathing Boxes, wine tasting at Yarra Valley and the Penguin Parade with several other stops in between. I exchanged a few emails with Sharon, who tweaked the itineraries for us and gave great suggestions based on our input. The response time was outstanding even with the time difference to Canada. I was impressed from the first correspondence and it just got better from there. We couldn't be more thrilled. Loved having our own private Mercedes and having the two days based on what we wanted to see and do.

We spent two days with the wonderful people of the Great Private Tours during our stay here. Colesy took us on the Great Ocean Road Tour and made sure we saw the beauty of nature even looking out for wild koalas during the drive. He recommended a great place for fish and chips and endeared himself to our kids. Our youngest was especially taken in by him that by the end of the tour, she was hanging on to him like a koala. Steve joined Colesy to take us for our first family snow experience and made sure we got the right gear on to keep us as warm amd dry as could be in the snow. The two gentlemen even engaged in snow play with our family and we could not have asked for better guides. Thank you for taking such good care of us and giving us such fond memories of our first time in Melbourne with their warmth and friendly demeanour.

Booked this tour with Steve in and out of our hotel pick-up in Melbourne (we were 13 people; don't know if they pick-up for a small group. It was a very scenic and great day. Even got a cricket lesson over lunch.

If you have limited time in Melbourne, be sure to carve out a day to explore the Great Ocean Road. And to do so, there is no better tour than this one. Our guide was helpful and courteous. He gave us lots of useful information without any useless fluff. He customized our tour based on our continuous feedback. And he took us to some "off the beaten path" locations that were breathtakingly beautiful. Can't imagine a better way to spend a day in metro Melbourne area.

Our experience guide cum driver is Brendan picked us timely at 7:30am. Refreshments at "The Lighthouse tea room" and lunch were provided. Lunch were really good at "Birdhouse". Tasted the award winning Dooleys ice cream . It was forecasted 90% to rain but we had a fantastic weather with very blue sky through out. We were lucky to see Koala and Kangaroo too. Was an enjoyable trip for the whole family. Reached hotel around 8pm. Strongly recommend!

Best way to see Australia! I can not say enough good things about Steve Andrew and our day with him on the Great Ocean Road. Approaching the GOR in reverse was exactly what we were looking for to avoid the crowds. Steve was very knowledgeable about the things that we saw and experienced. The vehicles were very clean and comfortable. Steve was on time to pick us up and return us to our house so we could make connections for other activities. We had such a positive experience on this tour that we booked another tour for a second day. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Australia.
