I did it!! How many times have I driven past the Spit and thought of sailing or kayaking. And then NSW send out these vouchers for either dining or an outing. As a first timer in a kayak I had a great time. Our tour guide was very informative about points of interest or local history. Half way he even prepared a lovely morning tea with freshly made plunger coffee.
Great tour.. middle harbour is beautiful. Peter is a great guide with heaps of knowledge the history of the area
We had an amazing day on the harbour with our guide Connor. There were about 10 kayaks in our group and all mainly stuck together throughout the trip. The safety lesson at the beginning was efficient and included great tips for a first time kayaker such as myself. Our trip was broken by a lovely beach picnic halfway through at Flat Rock Beach. I recommend this to anyone with average fitness who is keen to explore a little more of Sydney in a unique experience. I also think it is a great way to dip your toe into kayaking before you hire one for the day. We will be back to hire kayaks again and do some exploring on our own. Thanks for a wonderful day - which just happened to be my 40th Birthday!! :)
The views and seeing another side of Sydney was amazing. Hearing the history of the area very interesting. Angela was a great guide. Lovely group of people on the tour, a lot of fun and laughter. Found facilities for showering and changing after the tour severely lacking, particularly if travelling from a distance.
It was total serenity on the harbour waters surrounded by the lush bushland, historic buildings and mega waterfront mansions. Tiernan had good local knowledge, was funny and made the morning very enjoyable. Morning tea at a secluded beach with waterfall to boot. Five stars !!
A massive thank you to Sydney Harbour Kayaks for an incredible kayaking experience. Last Saturday I joined you for the 4-hour Guided Kayaking Eco Tour through Sydney’s Middle Harbour and I had the most amazing time. I haven’t kayaked in over a decade so I was a bit worried about how I would cope. Fortunately, all my worries were cast aside as our guide Peter gave us an informative and thorough safety and equipment demonstration and talked us through our paddling journey and what to expect. Our small, intimate group of four meant that we could really soak up this picturesque part of Sydney and easily listen and learn about the natural and social history of the local area. Peter was an excellent guide and a wealth of knowledge. His passion for kayaking and the local area really shone through and he really made this kayaking tour a fantastic and memorable one. I loved learning about the shipwrecks, the architecture and the tightrope walker who tight roped across part of the harbour in 1877. The picnic lunch at Flat Rock Beach was superb with plenty of food to go around – rockmelon, pineapple, cheese, crackers, a selection of dips, chocolate cookies, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We were in two double sea kayaks, which were very stable and secure. We had the perfect weather conditions with blue sky, hardly any breeze and calm waters. Even when boats did pass us and cause a bit of a wave, the kayaks handled this perfectly and I didn’t feel unsteady at any time. My feet did get a bit wet when we stopped for lunch, but this was absolutely fine as they told us to bring trainers that could get wet. Overall, if you’re looking for a different perspective of Sydney or want to try something new, whilst learn about the local history, get out in nature and do some gentle exercise, then this is it. I strongly recommend Sydney Harbour Kayaks and everyone that I met throughout the day were friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic. As well as guided kayak tours at the weekend, you can hire kayaks by the hour or half-day to explore on your own. I will definitely be back and can’t wait to explore more of beautiful Middle Harbour soon. I also came by bus from the city and this was really easy and convenient, with the bus stop approximately 200 metres from Sydney Harbour Kayaks.
