Did the High Tea experience which was supposed to be on the Silver Bullet train. It had broken down so had a diesel engine with the rattler carriages...NOT disappointed at all. What an amazing experience from checking in to the very end, all the staff were amazing and very friendly. Food was extraordinary and service on train second to none. Well worth doing but probably not in 40deg heat...:-) love love loved it.

We recently went of the tasting train and what a great morning we had. I couldn't believe how generous the tasting platters were on the train with each person getting their own (enough food for 2 people really ) Once back at the station a 2 course meal & drink followed and it was superb. Seriously if you walk away hungry then its your own fault. As for the train we were on the old silver bullet rail motor. Gee did this take me back to my childhood days. The whole rattler crew were so friendly and helpful including all back at the station & restaurant. Do yourself a favour and take the time to visit & ride the Valley Rattler.

A truly magical and memorable adventure Hubby and I will cherish over the years. We booked the VIP package which included a 3+ hour guided train ride, individual cheese platter with complimentary drink and lunch with dessert. It was our first time aboard a steam train ever! Seeing it up close in all of its glory was quite spectacular. It put a huge smile on my Husbands face, especially when we watched the train turn around! The smoke smell, the fixings of the train, the sound of the train tracks, the views and scenery! We took a lot of photos and videos. Last but not least, the staff and team! You guys deserve so much recognition and praise. You were all warm, inviting, enthusiastic and informative. It really tied the whole day together. Shout out to Emma the GE of our carriage. She is an absolute delight! We’ll be raving about this experience to everyone.

Great trip on the silver buttlet different experience to rattler day before but staff still very friendly and helpful even others passages a delight. Meal at end was well done all worth the time.

We enjoyed every minute of this experience. Marilyn was a wonderful host and very informative, the tasting tray lovely and the lunch afterwards at the station was a delight. Love the Red Rattler, an 89 year old two carriage RM76 rail motor. The Mary Valley Rattler is a volunteer heritage organization that runs a train three days a week from Gympie to Amamoor and the Red Rattler every Thursday. The 40 kilometre journey takes almost exactly an hour, and the Thursday experience incorporates a three course meal as part of the $125.00 per person experience. It’s just a joy to ride the beautiful old rail motor, evoking so many fond memories of long ago. The first course is an entree of meats, cheeses etc from local producers. The experience concludes with the remaining two courses served in the rest rooms of the restored station. The main of pork belly on an apple slaw salad was sensational, as was the apple panna cotta.
