Tooradin Jetty

(Pass by)

Quick refreshmenst stop in Tooradin is a popular fishing spot. Four kilometres east of Tooradin on the South Gippsland Highway is the town's airfield which offers scenic flights and skydiving. The airfield's restaurant is open to the public and specializes in seafood. A few kilometres further east on the highway is the Bunyip River.

Phillip Island Nature Parks - Koala Reserve

Only a 2 hour drive from Melbourne directly to Phillip Island, you will stop along the way to visit a Koala Conservation Reserve for a guided ranger tour.

Admission Included

Cape Woolamai Beach

Crossing over the bridge in San Remo arrive to Phillip Island and make your way down to Cape Woolamai Surf Beach. Breathe in the sea air and taking a walk along the beach provides stunning views of this volcanic coastline. Look for Pyramid Rock in the distance!

The Nobbies Centre

As you enter Summerlands you will notice the absence of any housing, this is the part of the island which is all National Park. You will see the small wooden man-made burrows in which penguins who have not gone out fishing for the day are hiding. We will take a walk out around the board walks of ‘The Nobbies’ and have a look to see if we can spot any Little Penguins in their burrows, follow the walkways around to view ‘The Blowhole’ where waves come crashing up onto the dark volcanic rock, the caves and formations at this naturally craggy peninsula make for many dramatic photos, with the backdrop of Seal Rocks – on a sunny day you might be lucky enough to see Australian Fur Seals basking in the sun. If you do not fancy braving the boardwalks then step inside the Nobbies Information Centre where you can peruse the gift shop, grab a hot drink or discover the ‘Antarctic Journey Experience’ (time permitting and at own expense).

Admission Included

Phillip Island Nature Parks - Penguin Parade

As the sun begins to set it is time to make your way to the Penguin Parade, the Little Penguins only come out of the water after the sun has gone down so that they can be sure to stay out of the way of any predators in the air above them. The Penguin Parade ask that no photography is taken from this point on, this is to protect the sensitive eyes of the Little Penguins and ensure they are not scared, Wildlife Tours fully supports this request and we believe you will enjoy getting to witness such an amazing natural spectacle without the distraction of getting the ‘perfect photo’ – allow yourself to be fully immersed in the experience!

tour started from 13:45 to 23:00. It is less than it should be (12 hours). we had not enough time to see, to eat (not allowed to eat or drink in the bus), even not enough time to go to the wash room. we were told "if you are late, you will stay here until tomorrow".

Loved the penguin parade but wished we had a longer time to view them. Felt a bit rushed after viewing for 25 mins and had to make our way back (long walk) back to bus. We didn’t have enough time beforehand to eat (too crowded, long waits) and shop.

We really enjoyed seeing the penguins, however the overall day was a bit underwhelming. The drive took exceptionally long, we had only 20 minutes at the koala sanctuary, 15 minutes as Nobis, which was already closed and then were rushed to the penguins. Because of our late arrival we didn’t have time to stop for food, we stopped for a snack and were told that we could get a proper meal later. Unfortunately this didn’t come and we didn’t have enough snacks for our young son, which made the overall experience much more stressful. So penguins were cute, but with some better organization, it could have been much better. I would book the penguin tickets and organized ourselves independently if I could do it over.

This trip was amazing, would highly recommend. The guide Fiona was brilliant and really knowledgeable about all the different aspects of the tour. The bus returned to Melbourne just after 11.30pm so public transport was still running making hotel return quite easy.

The tour was great. Our tour guide, Fiona, was terrific. She was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and informative. The koala sanctuary was great. We got to see a few koalas moving around and eating, and we saw a few wallabies as well. The penguin parade was fantastic!! Watching the little guys waddle up to their burrows was definitely worth the trip.

Linda

Getting the chance to see both koalas and penguins really up close and personal. Fions our guide was great

At the Koala Reserve we observed many koalas, wallabies and birds. The Penguin Parade was great fun. We enjoyed seeing the little penguins up close along the boardwalks. Our tour guide/driver, Vicky was delightful!!

The Penguin Parade is very special. It really is all that people say it is! If you can make sure to spring for the enhanced/upgraded viewing experience—you will not regret it. Vicky our guide and bus driver was great. Entertaining, informative, great bus driver (can’t believe she is asked to be both!) and kept all of us on time. The Koala Conservancy and the Nobbies were good adds. A lot packed into the 12 hour tour!
