My daughter and I were lucky enough to be the only two on this tour on a sunny winter’s day. Alex was a fabulous host, personable, considerate and organised. Being born and bred in Tasmania he really knows his stuff. It was a jam packed day starting off with breakfast at daci and daci, a visit to two wineries, fresh and superb seafood at the lobster shack in Bicheno and to top it all off a unique and delicious curry scallop pie at Mures. Alex also took many photos during the day that were sent to us a souvenir (nice to have some good shots by a professional). This tour was great value for money being so personalised and boutique. Can’t wait to return to do the agrarian kitchen and Bruny island food tour too!

Very knowledgeable local guide Alex who is internationally experienced, and modifies the tour as needed to meet client requirements. Great energy, insights and consideration. We recommend this tour to those who love great food, wine and history.

An 8am start was the only negative of the day. I mean that. I had a great time. Alex knows his stuff, his people and Tasmania too! Not only did we avoid an accident, but every venue we visited we arrived before the rush or immediately after it finished, meaning we finished the trip pretty much bang on time. The food? To die for. The Devonshire tea was awesome, the seafood platter was HUGE but the highlight was, without doubt, the scallop pie. I’ve never had a better pie, let alone a scallop one. The wine, oh my gods the wine. As a red wine lover I thought I’d be a bit out of luck, but there was PLENTY of wines for even a savage like me. So, for your money you get history, personal anecdotes, great food and wine and a lovely day out. Just book the tour, you will not regret it.

From the moment we were picked up from our hotel until we returned , this was a very memorable day. Alex was the consummate professional host & the food was delicious. From the feather light scones for morning tea , the wonderful lunch at the Agrarian Kitchen & the wine tasting, just wonderful. I have already recommended this tour to my friends.

We had a wonderful day out in the Derwent Valley and enjoy some gorgeous food and wines. Alex was a fantastic host and is passionate about the region and his food.
