I am a lover of all things fine and wholesome. Being born and brought up in an Indian family, food is a part of everything we do. I run a spice and tea business where I'm always playing with the balance and energies of spices. My grandfather was a doctor specialising in spices, so you can see how integral the Indian heritage is to me. Sharing food and tea is ingrained in my culture and it's a way to connect, share emotions and experience the warmth of someone's ancient family recipes. Other than running a tea business I love to hike, do yoga, cook, go for ocean swims, write, travel the world and constantly explore different cultures. I can speak English, Punjabi and Hindi. I'm also a vegetarian and I love teaching people the breadth of choices available for a vegetarian! I look forward to breaking bread with you and sharing my family recipes and teaching you all that I can about handcrafted food and tea, made with love.

Uppma is a warm and gracious host. She made us feel welcome in her apartment and cooked us a wonderfully unique meal. We enjoyed great conversation as she served meals which have been passed down through her family. The food was incredible, every course was perfect and so thoughtfully prepared with all of the trimmings to go with it. We ate our way through the night whilst being given pointers on how to use roti to ‘shovel’ the curry and being shown pictures of traditional chai brewing in India. The spark in Uppma’s eyes as she discussed the food of her North Indian heritage and the chai legacy which she has taken on from her grandfather was incredibly special to witness. When there was no food left, the chai kept flowing as Uppma shared all of her inside tips on the best places to visit and eat in Sydney. We left dinner with a newfound friend, my only sadness being how far I will have to travel to eat the most amazing curry again.
