David was an exceptional guide. His knowledge and enthusiasm for telling us the history and beginnings for each site was the best we have had. His recommendations for where to eat, what to see made the free time really enjoyable. This combined with the beauty of Ghent means we definitely want to come back. Highly recommend this tour.

The tour guide Julian is a great guide, very knowledgeable and a nice person. He was very kind, nice, and helpful to all of us. Ghent is a nice city. The historic center is very small, so you see it very fast. Food was delicious. Everything was great until the end of the tour. We were supposed to meet at 4:30 at a bus station which was not a real bus station, and the bus was not allowed to park there. Me and another woman were 6 minutes late. The bus decided to move away from the location and initially it was a 10-minute walk to the bus. Ended up an hour chace after bus around Ghent. It was very disrespectful and unprofessional. I'm 5 months pregnant woman who had to run for 1 hour after an idiot driver who was so unprofessional in his job that couldn't find a legal parking spot. Also, if the drop-off/ pick -up location is not a legal parking spot, maybe the tour office should consider changing it. I mean there are so many things that could have been done yesterday to make sure this situation didn't happen. The worst part was that once we got to the bus, the driver did not even apologised for being a jerk and making a pregnant woman chase the bus around the half-lit streets of Ghent. The tour guide was very apologetic about all this, since he was with us and got frustrated just like us. My recommendation will be to make sure the drivers find appropriate parking spots wherever they drive the golroups, also have some flexibility for people who get lost in small streets and get late. Another thing is to make sure they apologise for their wrongdoing. This is unseen. I have traveled 27 countries, took more than 20 tours, and have never been treated like this. The driver should be disciplined and maybe even fired.

We had a wonderful time with Mark as our guide. His knowledge of history and ability to tell a story brought the history of the city to life. He has a great sense of humor as well and had good tips for lunch. Glad we went and highly recommend this trip to others.

Ghent is a beautiful city. We loved walking through the streets and taking a canal ride. It’s not as ‘touristy’ as Brugge. Ghent was one of the highlights of our trip.

A thoroughly delightful and informative excursion thanks to Mark (Marco Antonio) - Ghent is a not to be missed destination (IMHO). I appreciated the time spent as a group and the time allowed for individual exploration - a perfect combination. A big thumbs up for this Buendia tour.

We loved this trip. On the bus, they alternate between Spanish and English information. Then we have our own English guide, Pablo, once we arrived at Ghent. Pablo is very knowledgeable and humorous, explaining the history of the city in a good way during the walking tour. He gave us recommendations for food/beer choice in Ghent and Brussels. In the afternoon, we have 4 hours of free time to visit places, have a lunch and take a boat tour. Booking this great tour from Viator is also easy.

We enjoyed our trip to Ghent. Our tour guide Santo (David/Santiago) was awesome - informative, funny, helpful and nice. After a walking tour of the old City we had 4 hrs to explore Ghent on our own. There was no rush, we had plenty of time for a walk around, a lovely lunch near the Castle, and a boat tour on the canal. Our only regret is we couldn't visit the Castle, but it is our own fault - we should have booked it online in advance. We learned that the hard way - after a LONG wait at the entrance for tickets, when we finally made it to the cashier, we were told the first available entry time was half an hour before our bus departure which made it impossible for us to see the castle and make it to the bus, so we gave up. Lesson learned :). We recommend this day trip and the company.

This was an absolutely amazing tour! We absolutely loved our walking your and Mark was an amazing tour guide. We learnt so much and have been talking about it since last week when we went. It is really easy to meet the tour group at the front of the train station in Brussels. We then shared the bus with the Spanish speakers to Ghent. It was good that you could pick to have the tour in English or Spanish. Well worth the money!
