We'll start from here after some very quick basics on camera advice and what to expect over the tour, also some warm up shots before hitting the quiet side of Brugge.

Jan Van Eyckplein

One of the main stops early in this tour, we'll take some time to admire and shoot photos of the old port of Brugge, long dead for boat trade but still very alive for possibilities.

Vlissinghe

Drink up the over 500 year old Cafe Vlissinghe through a photographer's eye as we get into the St Ana area...

Sint-Janshuismolen

Where our tour concludes (after many more locations not listed here haha), the open spaces and peaceful surroundings of the windmills of Brugge. Perfect for further shooting after our time, also for nearby local cafes and restos.

Andy is a great host - we visited lots of locations and were shown detail we might have otherwise overlooked. Info was illustrative and anecdotal, useful and thought provoking. If you are not sure about this tour - just do it, you won't be disappointed!

My wife and I booked a two hour lesson July 2023. It was excellent. Andy is bright, cheerful, positive and engaging, and doesn't care how good your camera is. We were at different skill levels, but he adapted to that easily. Pre meeting communication was complete, meeting up was straightforward, and his main teaching method was to take us to photogenic sites, show us what he had taken on a tablet, and why, then we had a go and we discussed our results – framing, foreground etc. - he focussed on what we requested. We ended up with more knowledge and good photos. He also advised on camera settings (and also mentioned he teaches smartphone photography skills). However, he mixes his teaching skills with tourist information when asked – the oldest pub, good restaurants, cultural components of population and city growth, so the end result for us was a significant increase in the quality of our stay. I commend his skills and his teaching sessions.

I had a fantastic time with Andy. Walking thru Brugge under his guidance was an experience I heartily recommend to anyone. He is very knowledgeable, had great photography tips, and has an excellent knowledge of Brugge itself. He is patient, funny, and a great photographer, could not have asked for a better guide.

I went on a tour a couple weeks ago with Andy and it was great! Despite the weather being so-so, I ended up getting some great photos and learning a lot. I have had a dslr camera for years and haven't really had the motivation to learn how to use it. Andy gave me so many tips for using my camera as well as giving me a lot of inspiration for what frames will look good of lesser known, but beautiful locations around Bruges. I got so much practice in such a short time. This was such a good experience for me as a traveler and a novice photographer. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend Andy's photo tour! I learned so much from tips on camera functionality and post-editing to composition and lighting. Andy was incredibly knowledgeable and was happy to take the conversation in different directions depending on the level and interest of the participant. He was so kind to allow me to use his Bruges photos as inspiration, which was helpful as a beginner to see the different types of creative shots to get using one subject. Bruges is so beautiful and we visited spots on the tour that I wouldn't have known to visit on my own. I would have found the tour helpful even if i was just shooting with my phone. One other super helpful item to mention- Andy shares many resources on photography and in Bruges in general. I'm excited to try and put some of his tips into practice. So very happy I found this tour while we were in town! Thank you, Andy! Very nice to meet you!

What a great two hours! I’ve done a few photography tours but I think I got the most out of this one. Andy was extremely generous with his knowledge - and even though he didn’t use my camera brand he knew it better than I did! I highly recommend this tour. I am finding I am seeing things differently now, being more considerate of my photo composition and more patient to get the right shot. In addition to photography it was lovely to see the town and learn more about Brugge. I am really glad I took this tour, thanks so much Andy!

Yesterday I booked the "Hidden Bruges" tour with Andy and was really excited. We strolled through Bruges off the beaten tourist track, took pictures, learned a lot about the city and its history and also got many valuable and helpful tips about photography and editing. And at the end there was a wonderful surprise - but I won't tell you more about it - because otherwise it would be no more surprise for you. I booked the next tour with Andy for tomorrow. Highly recommended!
