The Markt

On the Market square in Bruges you'll hop in for a carriage ride. This is the place where the coachmen wait. The square is surrounded by many colorful houses with stepped gables. This square is located in the heart of the historic city center. On the south side of the square is one of the most famous monuments of the city, the 12th-century Belfry. Ride along this impressive tower while marveling at the imposing Provincial Court and the old post office while sitting in the carriage.

Arentshof

Ride through the entrance gate of Arentshof, a small park in the heart of Bruges. Enjoy the view of the Church of Our Lady and the Palace of Gruuthuse. The Arends Garden contains bronze sculptures of four knights representing the modern apocalypse, symbolizing death, war, revolution and famine.

Boniface Bridge (Bonifaciusbrug)

The boatman named this bridge the kissy kissy bridge. It's a romantic spot indeed! Take in the charming canal and the wooden houses along this tiny bridge and build memories! It dates back to 1910 but blends into the historic surroundings so well! It's like a fairy tail!

Basilica of the Holy Blood

In a corner of the central Burg Square, is the 12th century basilica Of the Holy Blood. Its dark Gothic facade is boasted with gilded statues. The gothic stairway was added in the 16th century, to connect two chapels: the lower Romanesque Saint Basil Chapel and the upper Gothic Holy Blood Chapel with the colorful stained glass windows.

Quai du Rosaire / Rozenhoedkaai

What a view! The canal and the house of a Spanish nobleman with a weeping willow. It is the ideal spot for an unforgettable photo. Rosary beads were once sold here. Today it offers one of the best views in the city.

Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk

Admiral the spire of our lady, the second highest spire in the world completely build in bricks. Inside there are 2 Madonnas. We will show you the tender Madonna made by a Bruges sculptor.

Gruuthusemuseum

This city palace is amazing. Above the door we see Louis of Gruuthuse, a knight. He was a member of the order of the Golden Fleece. This can still be seen above the impressive entrance gate.

Almshouses Rooms Convent

This is a gem! Enter this small, whitewashed almshouse and discover the cozy courtyard. These precursors of public housing were established from the 14th century on. The corporations or guilds built these houses for their poor elderly members.

The Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde

The horses get a well-deserved break at the beguinage. Meanwhile, you can take pictures of the numerous swans gliding over the water. Step over the bridge and enjoy the white facades of the ancient beguinage. It is an oasis of silence and tranquility.

If you’re looking to discover Bruges less like a tourist and more like a local, this tour with Anna is the way to go! This 3 hour tour had so much to offer. We visited the highlights of the city, learned about the rich history of Bruges and still had time to sneak in the hidden gems that only the locals know about. The tastings were a true depiction of regional specialties and I find that eating like a local helps me connect with the culture so much more. Anna specifically is an excellent story-teller, so you will definitely be entertained as you eat piping-hot fries and taste the finest Belgian chocolate. Book a tour with her, and you won’t regret it!

We were introduced to the Venice of the North in a pleasant and educational way. Anna, our charming guide, provided the interpretation. She was very flexible and knew exactly what the group wanted. She showed us the nicest places and fascinated us with interesting stories.Definitely recommended.
