Really great guided walk with knowledgeable and experienced local mountaineer, it was tough at the start, steep ascent but worth it, beautiful scenery and panoramas, really recommend it!

Since I was getting conflicting messages online on how to access Vitosha mountain (mainly the transport info being in Bulgarian) I decided to book a self guide tour to provide me with the local knowledge which will save me time and energy. Or, so I thought anyway. I booked this tour in advance and had to message as to what will happen next since I did not receive any info beforehand at all. I was told I will receive bespoke instructions a day before which I have, but they were not bespoke at all. For starters, my starting point was a random hotel (I was not asked where I stayed at any point). Never mind I thought, get yourself to the Hladilinka bus terminal where I was told to get bus #122/#123. Well, bus #123 was not even listed on the display and I waited over 40 minutes for bus #122 which did not arrive, so I messaged the company for further instructions using the Viator app. Having waited another 30 mins for their reply during which the bus still wasn't there and getting radio silence I decided to make my own way to Vitosha i.e. ask members of public for directions, get a taxi etc. I had to basically use my own initiative which I shouldn't have to having paid for a service. I ended up reaching Cherni Vrah late afternoon using my phone/following the trail, which was hard but also so rewarding, but due to having wasted time first thing, this was the only summit I did that day as the last bus from Hotel Moreni departs at 18:15 and you really need to get off the mountain when it gets dark. To summarise my experience, I was expecting bespoke, clear instructions, so I could pack in as much as I could in a day. What I was given felt like copy and paste, out of date and inaccurate manual. I have contacted the company afterwards and asked for a refund since their instructions were incorrect which resulted in additional costs and wasted time which is precious when you're travelling, so in my opinion they have not fulfilled their obligations, only to be told I am being pushy and they are not at fault here. I doubt the above is what you're after, so avoid them like the plague and go elsewhere or do your own research (I know it's tricky since all the transport info is in Bulgarian). Trust me, you will be so much better off.

Great self-guided tour! Recommend! We are very satisfied with the professionalism and the easiness of use of the e-guide. Also, they always had a person to help and assist us. Absolutely excellent!

So this is one of the most useless tours i have ever seen in my life. Maybe they guided version is better as people write in the reviews, def not the self-guided. First of all self guided should be somebody dropping you in a place and then you go around yourself. But here i just received a word file and nothing else. And even if the concept has a different meaning, the transport advice they provided, you can easily find online - i received it in a free walking tour guide of sofia- and a wikipedia description of the place. A 30 euro worth of word file. No map print screens no bus timetables no lift operating hours.. nothing.. the lift was not operational that day and they didnt mention it and my trip was totally damaged of course. And last but not least even that word file was not accessable by 11am same day already , they resent a link and still wasnt working! Totally not recommended

Wonderful self-guided tour option on this tour. Very affordable with all information and paths. Strongly recommend if you want to save money and do not need private guiding as this mountain is relatively easy to navigate.

I wanted to climb Vitosha mountain so I decided to buy this trip. This was my only mistake during my trip to Sofia. 58 € for me and my daughter for ... NOTHING! For this price, you will get a simple PDF with minimal information but nothing necessary (google will give you all this information for free). No departure time recommended in this document. Nothing about how to pay for your food, where you can buy it, if there is an information point somewhere, ... absolutely nothing useful! Just the number of the bus line to go to the elevator BUT! There are 2 bus lines to go to the lift (line 122 indicated in the document and line 123 not indicated). Bad luck for me line 122 was inactive ... With the help of people on the street I took another bus and after 30 minutes of walking I finally got to the bottom of the elevator! Closed !!! At least I'll be reimbursed. This is the only good point.

This tour was highlight of my trip. It was lucky for me to take the tour within the limited time. Mt.Vitosha is definitely beautiful as you can see attached photo.Dragalevtsi Monastery has really interesting images on the west side wall. You can see men on horseback, St.Demetrius, St.George and St.Mercurius. It looks like same composition, but there is a meaning and history for each of them. Moreover, tour guide is nice and car is comfortable. All you needs are clothes that are comfortable to move around in and prestudy for saints.

The hiking encountered some patches of snow towards Black peak. Beautiful walk, i was lucky i was bringing good mountain shoes, the guide is very pleasant and even offered me support all over the distance. The monastery is beautiful and worth seeing. Complete awesome trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS!

Great tour, I'd recommend it. Hristo emailed promptly to confirm arrangements for collection from hotel, and Tony, the tour guide, arrived early. Following a supermarket stop to purchase necessary snacks and water, and a drive of around 45 mins, we the reached parking spot and set of on a good hike of 2.5 hrs to the top of the mountain. Following a rest at the top of an hour, it was a little cooler up there, but mainly only due to the breeze, we headed down. Tony was very pleasant, making conversation and explaining things, he was also very flexible in shifting the downward trek so we could descend by the chair lift, and then drive back to the monastery to see that. So, in all, it was a great day, and very well organised, only downsides for me were: 1 mountains were busier than I would have liked, I'd hoped it would be more of a rural wilderness, and 2 monastery was a little bit of a disappointment for me, as there simply wasn't much there.
