Museum of Socialist Art

Our trip will start with pick up from your hotel at 09:30. First, we will visit the Museum of Socialist Art in Sofia. There we will have the chance to see over 70 works of monumental sculpture, exhibited in a park covering 7,500 sq.m. On a special pedestal, the large five-pointed star that once crowned the former Party House in the center of Sofia is on display. If the day of your trip is Monday we are replacing the museum with another astonishing Communist monument- the Bells Park. It was constructed in 1979 by the daughter of the last Communist leader of Bulgaria by the initiative called "The flag of peace". Children from both sides of The Iron curtain were meeting each other and making bells which are presented in the park.

Everything about my tour was fantastic! I was picked up right on time and since I was alone, I was able to enjoy a private tour at a group tour price! My driver was very knowledgeable and he did an excellent job explaining the communist party in Bulgaria and the modern opinions of Bulgarians. He also offered to stop at Starbucks and for a meal at Happy on the way to the monument. At the monument, we were able to take our time and enjoy the monument and the surround areas. I am so happy with the service, the price, and the entire experience. 10/10

Diana was a great tour guide! She knew in depth the history of Bulgaria and even shared with us the personal stories of her family and how communism changed their lives. The tour was a lot of driving and Diana was a very good driver. About 30 minutes from Buzludzha she went over the history of the monument which was extremely impressive! Highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic day tour! I was very impressed that the tour ran notwithstanding that I was the only person who booked it. My tour guide/ driver Martin went above and beyond in making certain I had a great trip. It was surprising that the remotely situated Buzludzha Monument was buzzing with activity- there was a Serbian film crew on site. Additionally there was a small crew of restoration workers inside the monument. Of the nearly 3 weeks I spent in the Balkans, this was the sight I had most looked forward to and it did not disappoint even on a dreary rainy day.

Our guide was the best. Even though it was just his second day as a tour guide he seemed like a professional. Very knowledgeable not only about communism but about every single thing about Bulgaria and the Balkans. It was very interesing and fun experience. Highly recomended.
