Product description
Start the tour by visiting an artisan bakery where you will try banitsa, which is a pastry filled with white cheese, typically served with airyan. Then, enjoy the view of Plovdiv from The Hill of the Liberators before continuing to a grocery market, Chetvartak pazara. You can buy locally-grown fruits and vegetables, different kinds of nuts and spices and Bulgarian honey.
Your lunch will take place at an authentic Bulgarian restaurant where you will try one of the most famous dishes among tourists - a true favorite of all locals as well.
Next, you will visit a small shop which offers a different range of products coming from the Rhodope mountains. There you’ll try lyutenitsa – bread spread made of peppers, tomatoes, carrots, spices and herbs. Every family, especially those living in villages, has its own recipe – some make it spicier, others blend it to perfection.
Finally, you’ll arrive at Kapana – Plovdiv’s creative district, known for its many arts and crafts stores, stylish cafes, and the events it hosts all year round, the most famous of which is Kapana Fest. Have a look around its small cobblestone streets and finish the tour with a dessert in a cake shop near Kapana.
