Around the lake, you can simply walk and enjoy the beautiful nature, away from the noise of the big city. Vitosha Mountain

In the afternoon you will head to Vitosha which is the first park in Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula. The territory of the mountain includes Vitosha nature park that encompasses the best known and most frequently visited parts. The foothills of Vitosha shelter resort quarters of Sofia and Knyazhevo quarter which has mineral springs. Great day out with a passionate local guide with an obvious love of the beauty of Bulgaria. The mountain was quite misty but it didn’t detract from the visit. Lunch at a famous mountain restaurant with a selection of Bulgarian treats then a walk around the lake/reservoir.

We had a good time with our guide Vasil. He was careful in the car, the car was good and he has choosen a good restaurant for us. The view from the mountain at Sofia was wonderful. Maybe the organisation can organize a visit at the Boyana church (Unesco) in the future? We could have a view from the outside. Thanks Vasil!

<p>Firstly, the tour company was lovely as they allowed to us be flexible about our booking at the last minute. We also had an excellent day with our tour guide Petar, who was welcoming, informative, and great company for us for the day. He took us for a small hike by the mountains, giving us the option to personalise our tour to our interests making sure the route was suitable for us all. We did not feel rushed as he waited for everyone in the group. He even got some pictures and ate with us when we stopped of at the lake, helping us translate the menu and bill too! Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience, I would highly recommend Petar and the day trip to anyone visiting Sofia.</p>

We had a great trip with our guide/driver Todor and he adapted the day trip to our personal interests. Mount Vitosha is an absolute MUST for eveyone going to Sofia. Sofia without going to Vitosha is like going to Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. The trip to the lake is not worth it, there are more typical and interesting things to see, but thanks to the flexibility of Todor, we refocused on more interesting things.

Excursion with my mother who walks with crutches, so we did not do hiking but we loved the climb, the landscapes, the views of Sofia from the mountain. Then our guide Christian took us to visit Lake Pancharevo and there we ate overlooking the lake in a wonderful restaurant. Thanks for everything to our guide!!!!! He helped us with everything and was very kind and correct.
