The guide was great and very passionate. The information he gave us was historical and delivered with charm. I would recommend this tour but it could last 4 hours easy.

My son (12 years old) and I went on the Sofia walking tour this morning. We were the only ones so it was a literally private tour :). Our guide, Petar, was very nice and knowledgeable, he showed us around and answered all our questions.

A magical walk through the history of Sofia. The guide was so informative, even taking me to a museum I did not know existed, where I could (with the aid of VR help to build a fortress wall. I even got to see the ruins of the fortress I helped to build! One of my best walks ever!

Getting to visit another country in a day was so much fun. The local Skopje guide was very knowledgeable and resourceful. However, spending almost 10 hours in a car (two-way trip) was a bit exhausting.

Dimitar was an amazing guide. I was a solo traveler so I paid double the booking price and it was worth every penny. Before I dive in, keep in mind the tour company GPS directions are wrong and send you to a tucked off corner of the cathedral but the actual meeting point is right in front of the Saint Alexander Nevsky cathedral entrance. Coming back to Dimitar, his range and depth of knowledge provide you with a vast context of the Balkan world, its interactions with the Ottoman, Holy Roman and Russian empires. We covered over 17 centuries in monuments and history with interesting information on each street, building and structure. On top of everything, he answers questions freely on Bulgaria’s history, its interactions with its neighbors, Slavic and Balkan history and culture. Religion, history, politics and culture all intertwine in this narrative. You will get the most value out of this tour if you are curious and ask questions, which Dimitar answers with charming honesty. There are a moderate number of stairs involved but not much walking (for me) as I’m pretty used to long walking tours. You cover a lot in 2 hours. Five stars to the material and a million stars for this seemingly standoffish yet charming Bulgarian who helps you understand Bulgaria not in isolation but in relation to itself and the vast unknown world at that time.
