Our driver and guide, Simon, picked us up at our hotel at the agreed upon time. After leaving Sofia he drove us through the countryside and mountains while giving us a thorough account of the rich history of the land. Because Simon grew up and worked in the rose business in Rose Valley he was the perfect guide for the occasion being able to explain in detail aspects of the rose business. We returned with plenty of aromatic rose products. As an added pleasure Simon took us to three tombs of Thracian kings that unfurled more of the rich history of the valley and Bulgarian history.
