Discover Ras Muhammad's hidden gems: from the tranquil shores of El Beach to unique stone finds, a day of pure bliss awaits.
Day 11: Sun, Sand, and Stone in Ras Muhammad
Today was a day of simple pleasures, a gentle reminder of why I embarked on this solo journey in the first place. It was a day to soak in the sun, feel the soft sand between my toes, and discover hidden gems in the heart of Ras Muhammad. No grand adventures today, just the quiet joy of being present in this beautiful corner of the world.
My day began, as usual, with breakfast at Osprey Ras Mohamed. I've grown quite fond of this place; it's become my little routine here. The familiar faces of the staff, the gentle sea breeze, and the stunning view of the Red Sea create a comforting start to each day. I savored a simple breakfast, fueling up for a day of exploration and relaxation. The Osprey Ras Mohamed is more than just a restaurant; it is an experience that is set against the backdrop of the stunning Ras Mohamed Natural Reserve.
El Beach: A Morning of Tranquility
After breakfast, I decided to spend the morning at El Beach. It was calling my name, promising tranquility and a chance to simply be. The drive there was beautiful, the landscape a mix of rugged desert and glimpses of the turquoise sea. When I arrived, the beach was relatively quiet, a perfect escape from the more crowded spots.
Experience the serene beauty of El Beach, a stunning coastal attraction with pristine sands and vibrant waters, perfect for relaxation and adventure.
I found a secluded spot, laid out my towel, and just sat there for a while, listening to the gentle lapping of the waves. The sun was warm on my skin, and the breeze carried the scent of salt and sea. It was incredibly peaceful. I closed my eyes and let the sounds wash over me, feeling the tension of the past few weeks melt away.
Sometimes, the greatest adventures are found in the simplest moments of stillness.
After a while, I couldn't resist the lure of the water any longer. I waded in, the coolness a welcome contrast to the warmth of the sun. The water was crystal clear, and I could see tiny fish darting around my feet. I spent a happy hour swimming and floating, letting the sea carry me gently back and forth. I even tried my hand at snorkeling, though the coral closer to shore wasn't as vibrant as what I'd seen on previous dives. Still, it was a delightful way to spend the morning, connecting with the natural world in its simplest form.
Lunch with a View
As lunchtime approached, I headed back to Osprey Ras Mohamed. I had such a pleasant experience having breakfast at Osprey Ras Mohamed that I decided to return for both lunch and dinner. I decided to treat myself to some fresh seafood. I sat at an outdoor table, enjoying the panoramic views of the Red Sea while savoring every bite. The ambiance was casual and inviting, making it a perfect place to unwind and soak up the natural surroundings.
L'ILE BLANCHE: An Afternoon of Discovery
In the afternoon, I decided to venture out to L'ILE BLANCHE, or White Island. I was intrigued by its description as a tidal island that disappears completely at high tide. The boat trip to the island was an adventure in itself, the sea sparkling under the afternoon sun. As we approached, I could see the gleaming white sand rising out of the turquoise water. It was a surreal sight, like a mirage in the middle of the sea.

We spent a couple of hours exploring the island, walking along the soft sand, and marveling at the unique landscape. The island is part of the Ras Mohammed National Park. It felt like being on another planet, a world of pure white and blue. I took countless photos, trying to capture the ethereal beauty of the place. The island is sometimes called the invisible island because it is exposed to the tides and cannot be seen at high tide. I also took the opportunity to do some snorkeling, exploring the colorful underwater world with its various fish and corals. The experience was truly unforgettable.
The Stone Shop: A Collector's Dream
Before heading back for dinner, I made a stop at a local stone shop. As an antique shop owner, I'm always drawn to unique and interesting objects, and I'd heard that this shop was a treasure trove of geological wonders. It was a small, unassuming place, but packed to the rafters with stones of all shapes, sizes, and colors.

I spent a happy hour browsing the collection, running my fingers over the smooth surfaces and marveling at the intricate patterns. The owner was a friendly local who was passionate about his craft. He told me stories about each stone, where it came from, and its unique properties. I ended up buying a few pieces, including a beautiful piece of petrified wood and a striking desert rose. They will make wonderful additions to my collection, and remind me of my time here in Ras Muhammad.
Dinner Under the Stars
For my final meal of the day, I returned to Osprey Ras Mohamed. I enjoyed another delicious meal while watching the sunset over the Red Sea. The sky was ablaze with color, painting a breathtaking backdrop to my dining experience. It was a perfect end to a perfect day.
As I sit here now, writing in my journal under the soft glow of my lantern, I feel a deep sense of contentment. Today was a reminder that sometimes, the most rewarding experiences are the simplest ones. It was a day to connect with nature, appreciate the beauty of the world around me, and find joy in the small things. Tomorrow is my last day in Ras Muhammad, and I plan to make the most of it. I'm looking forward to visiting Beautiful place and Ras Mohamed Nature Reserve.
I am also planning on concluding my trip with a visit to the Champions Cafe & Pub.
