Jeff was a friendly and knowledgable guide. This trip was an excellent way to get out of Helsinki and explore Finnish nature. The food was delicious and I appreciated that they provided gluten-free options. Overall, this was a pleasant and informative experience...the perfect way to end my trip to Finland! I highly recommend Taiga Times!

My 22 year old daughter and I went on the Magical Forest Hike and a really memorable day . We learnt about foraging , saw some beautiful fungi and had a delicious lunch that our guide had cooked and brought along for us. He was a great communicator and knowledgeable about the plants and animals. We cooked the mushrooms we had collected over a log fire in a cosy hut. It was chilly - but he had the foresight to bring extra layers for anyone that needed it. We would highly recommend this trip , as we absolutely loved it.

This was such a wonderful experience! The guide was kind and very knowledgeable. A nice leisurely walk with so many mushrooms to see on the way. The meal was also absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

I loved this tour! I went in October and it was very cold but our guide had plenty of clean thick wool hats, gloves, and scarves, and windproof pants to slip over our pants to keep us warm. The forest was stunning and learning about mushrooms and finding them was enjoyable. Our guide was intelligent, made things comfortable and enjoyable. You ride over in van and it takes over an hour to get there. You get to help prepare the mushrooms which our guide cooks over a fire. We also had tasty salmon soup, rye bread, blueberry juice, cardamom bread and tea. It was a wonderful day!

This incredible mushroom hunting experience has far exceeded my expectations. Our guide, Jeff, had an infectious passion for mushrooms, berries and nature in general. I now feel confident identifying some common edible mushrooms, like chanterelles! Jeff's cooking was also a delight - our lunch consisted of salmon soup and rye bread, creamy chanterelles, some cake and blueberry juice. Despite the rainy weather, I had an absolute blast and I highly recommend this mushroom hunt!

This tour was absolutely incredible. My husband and I had the best time finding mushrooms and berries and learning all about the wonderful things that grow and live in Liesjärvi National Park. Jeff was an excellent guide and I would highly recommend this excursion! You haven’t really seen Finland unless you take this tour. This was the highlight of our trip and we can’t wait to come back and do it again! Thank you Jeff and Kiia!

Not that kind of magical mushroom experience, but a fun, beautiful excursion to the backwoods of Finland. This is a must for any nature lover who wants to get out of the city for a day. Jeff was a hospitable and knowledgable guide who took us on our journey through Liesjarvi National Park. He taught us about different kinds of mushrooms, and how to identify the edible ones. On top of that, we harvested a variety of berries that were plentiful. We hiked through the mossy forest until we reached our camp along the lake where we cooked our forage of chantrelles and porcinis over an open fire in a wooden teepee, as Jeff prepared lunch of salmon soup, rye bread, and blueberry juice. Such a lovely day and special memory of Finland! Thank you Taiga Times!

This is a must do when visiting Finland! Jeff, the guide, is super chill and knowledgable on Finnish nature. We learned a lot during the Mushroom Foraging tour and had a sumptuous meal in the wild. Would 100% do it again! I say whimsical because it really felt like some tiny fairies or cute creatures could be living in the quiet woods. Ps: remember to ask Jeff where he got those beautiful cups and bowls he uses to serve the guests ;)

We had a great time exploring a Finnish forest and hunting for mushrooms. We scored a bounty of chanterelles and a couple of porcinis. Jeff (our guide) was very informative and made the tour interesting and educational. If we were in Helsinki longer we probably would have done another tour with Taiga Times. I highly recommend going with them.
