After pickup from your central Nice hotel, head west by luxury minivan to the Provençal town of Grasse – best known as the perfume capital of France! Fragrances of jasmine, orange blossom and mimosa from the surrounding countryside pervade through this picturesque little town, making it sure to appeal to all your senses. Take a leisurely walking tour around its charming cobbled streets, and then tour Fragonard Perfumery, where you’ll learn about perfume manufacturing and the history of this intriguing perfume house.

Valbonne

Continue to the medieval village of Valbonne, less than half an hour away, and take a stroll through its picturesque alleyways, stopping to browse quaint boutiques, stocked with local arts and crafts. Sit down for lunch at one of the many traditional cafés in Vallbonne’s Old Town (own expense) before relaxing on a scenic drive alongside the Loup River.

Gourdon

Arrive in the majestic village of Gourdon, perched high on a rocky ridge, and head to a viewpoint for sweeping views of the Cote d’Azur’s dazzling coastline.

Chateau de Cremat

Return to Nice and visit Château de Crémat or other winery, one of France's smallest yet most beautiful wineries. Our guide, Zara, was absolutely fabulous! So funny, personable, and navigated the steep/curvy mountain roads with ease! We really enjoyed seeing all the little towns and getting to know their history. We wish we had more time to spend exploring! In fact, you should consider cutting the wine tasting and looking around more small mountain towns. Excellent tour!

This was AMAZING. the tour guide was very friendly and it was one of the best views of my life in the French Alps. Perfumery was beautiful and had great souvenirs. Highly recommend for the price, especially because hotel pickup was included!

We had an incredible day with Zara! Not only was she an incredible and knowledgeable tour guide, she was very accommodating for our 8 month old son. The parfumerie was very interesting and enjoyable and we really loved the winery - we sampled 6 wines with a charcuterie board + a tour of the facility. But the highlight for us was the beautiful journey through the countryside and the stops at the villages - picturesque! 10/10 recommend!

What a wonderful experience. We were recommended by our Hotel, Canopy by Hilton in Cannes. Our driver George was prompt and just a joy to be with. He anticipated our needs and was so knowledgeable about the area. We did the country tour with wine tasting. A full day tour with just enough sightseeing finishing with a local wine tour and tasting. The views and lunch were the highlight in the town of Groupon. The views are spectacular and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend this tour company and you must ask for George.

Marion was a great guide! Was very cool to drive through the hills of the Riviera and see towns I might not discover on my own. Wine tasting at the end was very good. We only had one other couple on the tour with us, so the mini bus was not crowded.

Fantastic way to experience the surrounding area while staying in Nice. The perfumerie was such a unique experience & felt quintessentially French. Our guide was lovely as well. Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to easily experience more of the south of France.

Okay value for rapid fire sightseeing in the Provence region, but not as advertised so cannot recommend this tour. Pros: 1) Good value of transport, it is expensive to rent a car in Nice, and for a little bit more money, you have a driver who navigated tight European village roads. The van was comfortable (for 6 people I would say) and it was really nice to have air conditioning in the unusual October heat. 2) We enjoyed visiting the Fragonard Perfumery in Grasse - we did shop in the nice shop but there was no pressure to buy anything 3) Really nice views of all the villages we visited, away from the tourist hotspots like Cannes, Monaco, Eze or Antibes Cons: 1) The wine tour and tasting at the end of the itinerary was supposed to be the highlight. However, it was the worst experience of the whole tour. We were taken to a different winery even though we had a conversation earlier on the day about it! We went to Domaine de la Source instead of Chateau de Cremat - huge difference in terms of the location and quality of wine! We only got 3 tiny glasses of wine to taste, and only the white was actually drinkable. The wine guide also didn't explained what we were drinking, she didn't even showed us the label of the wine. 2) When we got to the winery we asked the guide whether we were supposed to be in a different location, he said no, because Domaine de la Source is non-commercial and organic, implying that it is a better one. We didn't appreciate this attitude. He was overall a nice enough guy but lying is just not okay. 3) Rushed - you never have more than an hour in each location. It is hard to lunch within an hour in any places in the French Riviera.

We had a lovely day going through some smaller towns that we wouldn't have been able to reach on our own without a rental car, Gourdon was our favorite! The only reason I'm eating this 4/5 is that the itinerary stated that we would be going to Chateau de Cremat, which was the main reason I booked the tour, and we ended up going to a different winery instead, which we weren't informed of the change ahead of time.
