We booked via "Get Your Guide" and they book with UTG. As a family we though it would be nice to visit the Louvre and paid for a private tour. We followed the directions and arrived 25 minutes before the tour! You are told to arrive 15 minutes before. Obviously several different tours from the same company get collected from the same point - a rather crowded street outside a gift shop. At 3.27pm a guide turns up for a Mona Lisa group tour. We ask her about our guide and she says he is running late and that there is no point in contacting head office. We continue to wait. At 3.40pm we contact Get Your Guide via the chat box. They can't get through to UTG. At 4.10pm we give up after having spoken to the 4pm group guide. Basically even for those groups they are not leaving on time (and the guides seem like students). For us the guide just didn't turn up. No communication, no nothing. Now we will have to fight to get a refund. I would avoid this company at all costs.

Private family tour of Louvre was a no show. For such high cost, the operation is dodgy at best. Instructions were to meet your guide at 162 Rue de Rivoli in front of the souvenir shop to the left of the foreign exchange counter. No markings except for a flimsy cardboard sign that is easy to miss due to small sign at knee height. The tour guide was not there. Wasted entire family’s time and a large van car service to and from the location as well.

I booked this for a trip I was taking with my niece and her daughter. The description said it was family focused for kids. That was appealing since we had an 8-year with us. Ivan, our tour guide, was absolutely fantastic. He made the whole museum experience so fun with games and stories about the artwork that really kept kids engaged. Honestly, it was just as fun for the adults!! Thanks to Ivan, the Louvre was one of our favorite activities in Paris.

It was the best decision to take this private tour with kids of the Louvre. We were a group of 4 people, with two teenagers (13 and 15 years-old). We had the tour in Portuguese, our mother tongue, with the guide Erlon. It was simply fantastic!!! It was worth every penny (even if in the beginning I wasn't sure if I would book the tour, as I found it quite expensive). We learned so many things in an interactive and interesting way. The kids were super engaged and we all had so much fun, that 2 hours did not seem enough. Our guide was not only super knowledgeable, but also a very nice young man! When we come back to Paris we will most probably do it again. It is the best way of learning and in helping kids to develop the taste and interest on culture, art and history!
