Your day begins with a visit to one of the most mysterious sites on Earth, that prehistoric and world-famous stone monument known as Stonehenge. The landscape is peppered with burial chambers and stone circles, each one thousands of years old and shrouded in mysteries, but Stonehenge rises above them all. Located on Salisbury Plain and keeping its 5,000 years of history quite secret, Stonehenge has been described as everything from an astronomical clock to a place of worship or burial. Your guide will explain what is known today and reveal the theories that have been debated for centuries. Ponder these theories as you walk around the stones and admire the scenic views.

Glastonbury Abbey

Your tour continues to the small town of Glastonbury, supposed home of the mysterious isle of Avalon, the place where King Arthur’s sword was forged, according to legend. It was here, after the Battle of Camlann, that a mortally wounded King Arthur died. Stop at the famous Glastonbury Tor (a hill) and view the ruins of St Michael's church. Afterward, descend to the Chalice Well Gardens to learn of an older legend, that of the chalice that Jesus Christ used during the Last Supper. Some say the Holy Grail is buried here in Glastonbury. Continue into town to visit Glastonbury Abbey, the site of Arthur’s and Queen Guinevere's graves, before heading to lunch in one of the local restaurants (own expense).

Very pleasant and rich journey for a day trip. I thought that would be a lot and, for sure, Glastonbury would deserve at least a whole day to discover its monument treasures, but the team (Guide & driver), managed perfectly the timing of the day so that we could do the whole trip in a day and have beautiful time with our very kind and efficient guide as well as some times on our own at every steps. The sun was with us and contributes to make the whole a beautiful, magic day and a very nice souvenir. Small group format also very appreciated. Thanks again and bravo to the team!

Our guide, Nick, was very knowledgeable and engaging. Our driver was pleasant, but about 15 minutes late and we had to stop for fuel, so the tour fell behind a bit. All of the sights were great, but it felt rushed and we weren't able to spend as much time as we would have liked, especially in Glastonbury. The Chalice Well is pretty amazing and well worth your time. Avebury is interesting, but it is at the end of a long day tour. Unfortunately, England was experiencing a heat wave the day we went, so it was physically taxing, which was certainly not the fault of the tour staff! My advice would be to do a tour of Stonehenge and Glastonbury so that you can see these in a more leisurely way. All in all, we had a wonderful time and we are very glad we went!

Packed too many places on one trip. Should be done in 2 days, or skip the hike up to the Tor. So rushed no time for even a bathroom break or have a sit down lunch.

The trip was so well organised and executed that there is nothing to add. From the pick up to the drop off it was spot on and excelled our expectations, the unexpected sunny day in the UK really helped (so maybe consider an umbrella). Our tour guide Andrew was so knowledgeable and professional and our driver Sean, such a good team.

This trip was simply magical. From the moment we met our guide, Tony, the day was amazing. While a very long driving tour, Tony’s knowledge and humor made the time fly by, but when on-site there was not one moment of feeling rushed. And,yet, we still got back to London (in Friday traffic) early! As for the locations on this tour: Each was far more interesting and exciting than we ever expected - made even more possible due to the insights and stories of our guide. With a day of both rain and (sun) shine, each location revealed their dynamic arrays of mystery and awe: Avebury was chilling and beautiful in the light rain, Glastonbury was breathtaking and powerful with parting clouds and Stonehenge was dramatic and fascinating with nearly clear skies that allowed spreading shadows from the stones to punctuate its structure. (Even though we thought Stonehenge might be anticlimactic, we we’re wrong. When you are there, it’s just different and you feel it immediately! Never mind all of the cool extra things we never knew, explained and pointed out by our guide). Thank you so much for an experience way, way, way beyond expectations and a huge shout-out to Tony who made our day extremely memorable!
