We loved our time on the glacier. Our guide, Martin, was knowledgable and also took care to ensure we were safe while also seeing as much as possible. His passion for hiking, nature, and immense care for his guests shined through. His knowledge and joy for learning made this such a memorable and exceptional experience. Thank you Martin!

We had a great time on this hike and got to learn a lot more about the glacier and see wonderful views of the surrounding areas. Our guide Paula was so knowledgeable and got to show us a lot of the glacier!

This year's winter hike was awesome. They include an amazing sapphire blue crevice to explore, which was one of the most beautiful things I saw in Iceland. The tour was unrushed and well planned, with safety as a priority. I recommend a moderate fitness level, as we saw someone struggle. Troll Expeditions handled it well, having enough groups that the person could go down with a different group. They did a nice job of staggering groups so that there was support and space.

The Troll Expeditions Skaftafell Galcier Hike with Michelle was INCREDIBLE. She was so knowledgeable, patient, kind and warm. We felt very safe in her hands and had a wonderful time. We were hiking with our 8 year old son and she was sooooo great with him as well. This tour is the highlight of our trip so far. The sunshine and the ice - we felt so lucky to be there! All the guides seemed so capable and soooo many thanks to a truly passionate and special guide Michelle.

It was a perfect glacier hike and our guide, Stefan, was wonderful! We hiked into two stunning ice crevices with amazing blue ice. For anyone in reasonable shape, this is the perfect tour. With crampons, we felt very confident. Highly recommend!

We had a terrific experience on our glacier hike with our guide Jay. After arriving at the very easy to locate meeting point, we received our crampons, helmet and ice axe from a very helpful staff. We hopped on the bus and headed up to the glacier. After about a 10 minute ride, we arrived at the base of the glacier and then had about a half mile hike into the glacier field. Once there, our guide Jay assisted us with putting on our crampons and then gave some really helpful pointers along with some important safety points. Once on the ice, the crampons really made the walk very simple and we felt very safe. The views were spectacular and Jay assisted us up the glacier to some wonderful viewpoints while always ensuring we were safe and comfortable. We even were able to create a bit of a water fountain on the glacier and try some amazingly fresh glacier water. I would highly recommend this experience if you will be in the Skaftafell area during your visit to Iceland.
