Capua

Buffalo Mozzarella Tasting in a Buffalo Mozzarella Farm-store, the area is considered the fatherland of the Italian Buffalo Mozzarella!

Pompeii Archaeological Park

First stop is Pompeii: you will enjoy the Pompeii Archaeological Park (Skip-The-Line Tickets included). You can go inside on your own or if you wish, you have the option to include a private licensed guide for an additional fee. If no private guide option is chosen, you can rent audio-guides (availables in English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese and Japanese). Pompeii Ruins: Visiting Pompeii is not like a museum , is as live again in an ancient roman commercial town of 3 Km. Buildings, temples, shops catched in the time of the eruption. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many ancient towns in the surrounding area, was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Vesuvius National Park

Lunch and Wine Tasting (both included): In a local restaurant/winery on the slope of the Vesuvius Volcano: it is located between Pompeii and Vesuvius' volcanic crater. All guests visiting the winery are welcome to stay for an "Italian style" tasting, held on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. Tasting menu includes: • Antipasto appetizer with local products: salami, provolone cheese, 'casatiello' (a local savory bread), and bruschetta with heirloom Piennolo tomatoes on bread baked in a wood-burning oven, paired with Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco DOP, Rosato, and Rosso. • Spaghetti made with durum wheat flour and tossed with a sauce made from heirloom Piennolo tomatoes and basil, paired with Lacryma Christi Riserva (aged in French oak barrels for 18 - 24 months). • Pastiera Napolitana, a traditional dessert, paired with Capafresca Spumante Rosato and Acquavite di Albicocche del Vesuvio, an apricot distillate. • Under 18 soft drinks instead wine.

Parco Acheologico di Ercolano

Last stop Herculaneum Archaeological Park (Skip-The-Line Tickets included): Born in the archaic age and initially inhabited by an indigenous settlement, the city was later exposed to Samnitic, Greek, and Etruscan influences, up to the predominance of Roman civilisation, still today visible and in an excellent state of preservation. Situated on a volcanic plateau, sheer over the sea, Herculaneum like the other cities of Vesuvius was submerged by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D., which buried it beneath a layer of debris measuring up to twenty-three metres in height.

Amazing experience from the comfortable ride to the knowledgable and fun guide…much better experience than a group with other people or trying to take a train down from Rome.

A must do! A wonderful day seeing the ruins with a lovely lunch and wine tasting stop near Mt. Vesuvius. We had an excellent driver (Gianni) and amazing on site guide (Marie Elyse). Definitely a splurge but you won’t regret it- from the minute of pick up until we returned everything was 5 star. Thank you!!!

This was an incredible tour. Our driver was excellent and the guides were amazing. Very professional and awesome tour!!

This was a wonderful experience!! The driver was very good and courteous and was waiting for us before the pick up time - he is an ambulance driver in Rome if you can imagine, so we were glad he was driving. The mozzarella tasting was perfectly timed for a nice breakfast and the guide was very interesting and informative. The lunch at the winery was really fantastic - great wine, great food, beautiful setting, wonderful tour guide. Herculaneum was a highlight - FAR less crowded than Pompeii and the frescoes and mosaics were much more impressive. We were all very glad we included that. I wish we had more time in Pompeii to visit the small museum before rushing off for lunch. If you want to see lots of artifacts discovered in the cities, visit the museum in Naples. A combo trip to include the museum would be amazing!

Our guide Gianni was the best part of our trip. We was extremely knowledgeable and we enjoyed his explanations of everything we passed. He was on time and most pleasant and we felt very safe with him. Enjoyed the entire day and so glad to have met him !!! Thank you and God you Gianni 😘

Great time. Pick up from hotel in Rome and left the driving to Johnny. Paola was a great guide. Lunch was wonderful. Thank God for Johnny's air conditioned vehicle.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. From top to toe we had such an amazing day and cannot imagine doing these two sites any other way than with this level of service. From the start we had solid communication and quick, informative responses from the Italian tour company so I felt good about the level of customer support. We walked out of our hotel at 7:30am sharp and our driver was already waiting in an impeccably clean car and was helpful with everything, always checking in and making sure we were comfortable. Ricardo is an incredibly professional and friendly young man. He had impeccable English with just a hint of Italian accent to make sure we didn’t forget where we were and he chatted almost the whole way about all things Italy. Sports, family, business, you name it. My husband and I learned so much about everyday life from him. Our boys gobbled down the mozzarella at the taste testing site then off we continued to pompeii! There we met our wonderful guide Paola. She is so full of information and history! She had extra pictures ready, knew all the great stop and click spots, was extremely patient with our boys (1 very energetic and 2 a bit tired and overwhelmed by the heat but still eager to learn!). Our lunch was overlooking the gorgeous city of Naples. The lunch did take a bit longer to come but that’s just part of being in Italy I think and we recommend the pizza more than the pasta. We were all a bit tired after lunch but we ventured on to Erculaneum and it did not disappoint!! Once again Paola brought this ancient city to life, answering all our boys’ questions about life in the Roman era. Again she was eager to take pics and tell stories. These two sites complement each other so much and we can’t imagine doing one without the other. As my one son said, you do Pompeii for quantity (it’s huge!) but erculaneum for quality (such better preserved mosaics and artifacts!). Ricardo was our safe and trusty driver back to Rome. He was patient with the extra time it took due to traffic. All in all this was money well spent and memories of a lifetime thanks to these two. Highly recommend this tour!
