I Trulli di Alberobello - World Heritage Site

Excursion and passage by bike through the streets of the enchanted village of Alberobello and its UNESCO heritage "Trulli".

Canale di Pirro

Beautiful valley surrounded by vineyards and olive groves that contains several legends from which its name derives ...

Chiesa San Michele in Frangesto

Wonderful panoramic and photographic point overlooking the "Costa dei Trulli", the church of S. Michele in Frangesto is located in the old "panoramic" road that leads from Monopoli to Selva di Fasano, in the locality of Loggia di Pilato. For some historians, the structure was an old farmhouse but according to the Bull of Pope Alexander III it was part of a female monastery, built on the land of an abbess around the middle of the 12th century. Its name comes from the archangel and from the bishop Michael who blessed it in one year of his long episcopate between 1144 and 1176.

We loved our biking experience through and around Alberobello. And though I have to include some issues - after all is said - Do this tou and with this company. My 2 issues: when I booked with a member of the Viator staff - they told me I could show up to start my tour at 2PM - not realizing the shop was closed that day from 1-4... I called the shop owner on my arrival and they did what they could to work with me but I still couldn't start until 4. A bummer but we went and had some lunch so it still worked out. The bikes they gave us were FANtastic and allowed us to work out a little but really get to focus on looking at our surroundings! The path they gave was truly beautiful and mostly kept us on country roads and away from cars and traffic. And we loved not being part of some group on a set ride. We could do our pace, stop for a bite, go a little off course - like we had brought our own electric bikes to Italy! My one issue - they are already working on fixing is that the GPS units provided were small and hard to see/read. This is a great bike tour!

very nice electric bikes that work well. we recommend getting a good introduction to the route and possibly supplemented with a map. Puglia on bike was very friendly and also lent us bike helmets. it was a nice area to cycle in.

Julia customized a trip for my wife and myself which included Alberobello and Locorotondo, focaccia lunch, wine tastings and a out 50km of riding. She was a great host, the weather was perfect and the scenery and stops were all just right. Thanks Julia for a great ride.
