Our family of four enjoyed our day with Velariilo visiting Mazzorbo, Burano and Murano. Mazzorbo was very quaint and very much off the beaten path. There wasn't much to see there except for a church and a vineyard tho and it was a lot of walking!! We absolutely fell in love with Burano (our favorite of the three islands). Valerio took great care to keep us away from the crowded tourist areas while still allowing us to experience the beauty of Burano. The colorful houses are very much worth seeing! We also visited an original Italian lace store and were able to witness lace making in progress. It was fascinating. We spent the least amount of time in Murano. It was lovely but we were exhausted by the time we got there. We went to a blown glass showroom where Valerio once worked and saw some amazing pieces. We also went to a small shop where a friend of Valerio's, Monica, works on blowing beads for jewelry and other glass works. It was fun to see her blow a bead for us but I must admit, we were really looking forward seeing a full glass blowing demonstration. After the tour, Valerio arranged for lunch at 9ne of his favorite restaurants on the island and it was superb. It was a very long day, we got back to Venice at 3:30 and logged almost 12,000 steps, but very much worth the experience of seeing new places.

Valerio was the BEST tour guide on our north Italy trip! So very personable, and communicated with us DIRECTLY which was amazing, and better than any other excursion! Was very neat to see the "islands" AND the "mainland"....You really don't realize how BIG Venice is....its truly a city on water! Water taxi all day for $25 bucks, WOOT! SO.MANY.ISLANDS....a must do tour in a must do city! This place was simply amazing and beautiful. We miss you already Valerio, HUGS!

Our family (with three teenage boys) had a great time with Valerio touring the Jewish quarter and Canareggio, Murano, Burano and Mazzorbo. In addition to the traditional tourist attractions he showed us an amazing, world class glass exhibition, secret gardens, other hidden gems and local restaurants. He went out of his way to make sure we all had a great experience and really managed to exceed the expectations of our youngest (a history buff) as well. We learned so much about Venice and the surrounding areas. He gave us many suggestions/ recommendations for our remaining days. He also came and had a drink with us, really nice to hang out with a local. We would recommend going on one of his tours, either tailored to your needs or simply select one of the "standard" tours on your first day in Venice so that you better understand the ins and outs of the city.

Valerio was simply amazing. Local guide with so much knowledge. Showed us all the non-tourist areas. Really loved it, highly recommend!

Valerio showed us all the insider tips for a fun non-touristy Venice visit. He was great with our kids and did a great job orienting us to the city. We loved our 3 island tour! We loved the personal touches and the visit to Murano was exceptional!

The tour was very informative and enjoyable. Valerio was a great host. He was friendly, spoke excellent English, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and made the tour special. His tour was tailored to suit our needs and he had personal and private access to sites. We had a great time. I would highly recommend the tour and Valerio.

Wonderful tour with Valerio, who told us many interesting facts on Venice and the lagoon while visiting the three major islands. We were able to see the real Venetian life and many hidden spots unusual for tourists.

Love all three islands they each offered a unique experience. If I had to pick one it will be Murano. Our tour guide Genny offered us the chance to experience a glass jewelry maker making glass beads using the chevron technique. Then she took us to see another glass maker who used a different technique using the glass to create cartoon characters. I ask him to create a pig which he did in front of us. I ended up buying the pig. Our tour guide Genny picked it up and delivered it the next day for us at our hotel she also took us to the glass Museum. Had the most beautiful chandeliers I have ever seen.

We really enjoyed this tour. Valerio is a great host and I very much appreciated that he took us to places that gave us a feel for how people actually live on the islands. Seeing the garden in Mazzorbo was truly a breath of fresh air. It was also interesting to get the perspective of someone who actually lives on one of the islands.
