Museum Civitatense Basilica di San Simplicio

The basilica of San Simplicio, in Olbia, is the most important and ancient religious monument of north-eastern Sardinia and a testimony of the spread of Christianity on the island. Cathedral until 1839, parish church since 1955, it was given the title of minor basilica, in 1993, by Pope John Paul II. It is dedicated to San Simplicio, the proto-bishop of the city and martyr under the emperor Diocletian.

Admission Not Included

Pozzo Sacro Sa Testa

One of the most characteristic monuments of the Nuragic civilization in Gallura, in the north-eastern part of Sardinia: a sacred well where the rituals of the cult of water were held

Admission Included

Acquedotto Romano

The Olbia aqueduct was built by the Romans between the I and II centuries. d. C., to collect water coming from the springs of Mount Cabu Abas. Next to the aqueduct a large settling tank was built, dug completely into the stone and provided with six holes for ventilation. On the sides of the cistern there are two other smaller tanks and a water inlet and outlet. On the arches you can still see the water transport channels. It is the best preserved Roman archaeological site in Sardinia.

Admission Included

Tomba dei Giganti Su Monte 'e S'Abe

Near Olbia and the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, a prehistoric monument stands out over 4 thousand years ago, evoking the head of a bull, a nuragic divinity

Admission Included

Castello di Pedres

The Castle stands on a rock of 89 meters and characterizes the whole southern part of the Olbiano basin. Its origin dates back to between 1296 and 1322, during the period of Pisano-Aragonese domination during the rise of the Visconti family.

I booked this online while on our cruise ship the first response I got was to change the time as they said they couldn’t take us at the time we paid for $200 US dollars because of a family emergency I then asked for a refund - MIRACULOUSLY they said they could now take us - when they sent the pick up spot I explained it must be too far from us and needed a refund they then ghosted me and stopped responding ! THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF TOURIST DONT BOOK HERE! I will get my 200 dollars back I promise you…. It horrible to be ripped off while trying to enjoy your vacation! We did 2 other tours booked on viator and both were amazing! DONT GET RIPPED OFF

Alessio is so gracious and friendly. There is a recording about each site but answered all questions I had (had many :)) A tuktuk is a great and breezy way to see the city. Had fun weaving through some of old cobblestone streets of historic olbia - a great way to get a sense of the city and city life as well as seeing some of the historic sites in and around olbio. Would definitely take another tour with Alessio.

The most memorable aspects of the tour are that it was woefully under-delivered. We asked for an English-speaking guide for our archaeological tour of Oblia. Well we got an English speaking driver who made no attempt to talk to us, and who simply played (often too late) pre-recorded snippets of historical narrative. The tour was severely underwhelming. Some of the sites were not even archaeological such as a city park and an existing church. On top of this, for the money we spent, and the 35 degree temperature, the company provided no water.

Our guide, Alessio, was very friendly, informative. He let us enjoy the moment , and we never felt being rushed. Since we didn’t have a car, this was a really fun way to see outside of the city center, and we enjoyed every places he took us. We also loved a Tuk Tuk ride instead of a car or a van. It made the experience more unique. Our favorite visit was the castle. Be ready to go up on the sharp stairs, but the view at the top is breathtaking.

We did 3 different tours (archeology, costa Smeralda and la Maddalena archipelago) with this agency and the same guide. We can not say which tour was better. It was perfectly organized. The guide picked us up as agreed. He even educated us about sardinian music and dialect. We had a chance to learn a lot about the sardinian culture and the history. Everything was orgnized on time and we have only words of recommedation. Thank you for making our visit so pleasent.

Friendly guide, unusual form of transport, good value and interesting places. I would recommend to people staying in Olbia.

Interesting tour, getting you to places where you wouldn't go normally, especially in 2,5 hour. A visit to the remains of a Roman cistern, de basilica San Simplicio (entry not included), Chiesa di San Paolo Apostolo (not open on our visit), Castello di Pedres (most spectular views, steep climb but not to long) and the Tombi de Giganti, and a Nuraghe well (Riu Milinu) was included. Still feels a litle overpriced. For the hotel pick up another € 10 were charged. The explanation was an English text, which was read out loud by a computer. The pronounciation and emphasis on vowels therefor was not always correct, which made the texts quite hard to understand. A verbal explanation was not given at the sites by our female guide, only the time we had to spend there.Further questions were not answered well, because of a seemingly not perfect understanding of the English language. Not all sites were very impressive, and the € 4 entrance fee to the San Simplicio church could have been included (a discountvoucher of € 1 by Ape tour is given though)

We had a day in Olbia while on a cruise. Alessio picked us up where the Cruise Terminal bus dropped us and we had a great 2.5 hrs visiting historical sites in and around the City of Olbia. Really interesting, very relaxed and great fun. They have 2 lTuk-tuks his wife drives the other one. RECOMMENDED!

Andrea_E

Lovely tuk tuk tour and guide, we recomend it to visite the main sites in Olbia, excellent service :)
