Florence was Italy's center of culture and commerce during the Rennaissance era. The Medici family was, predominantly, Florence's leaders in governance and banking. Today, you can visit their residence, Pitti Palace. Medici family were generous patrons of the arts. You can see many masterpieces in the Palatina Gallery, It's dominated by gold. The magnificent paintings were created by leading Rennaissance artists such as Raphael, Caravaggio and Fra' Fillipo Lippi. Lippi's paintings create the emotion associated with Christianity, unlike any other painter. Some areas are a bit confused, but the Pitti Gallery is one Italy's outstanding artistic venues.

Amazing experience. So much history and so much to see. It was also close to the other sites of Florence.

The palace is amazing. I could go ten times more. The guide was great. The instructions on how to get the tickets were wrong

Gloria was an energetic, well-informed guide. We loved her study of Rafael’s works as we toured the palace. Marvelous!!!

I've been to Florence many times and somehow never visited until this trip. It's a great addition to a trip to Florence! The palace is beautiful and the art is just the frosting on the cake. The Garden is great, too, and provides a beautiful view of Florence if you walk to the top of it. Highly recommend as a combination ticket with the Ufizzi Garden!

Booked this experience for myself and my significant other on holiday. Only to queue in line at Pitti Palace, and be told that my booking was invalid, and that they “normally experience this problem” with this booking. My husband was super excited about this specific experience and so we repurchased the tickets, as we were already busy that day and did not have time for Viator’s logistical issues. I would’ve much rather have bought the ticket at the actual palace because it was the same price with less complications and they could get us in sooner

The guide command of English was poor. hard to understand . She did not explain or go over the history . It very hurried and rushed

James_S

I highly recommend the guided tour. Before the tour I knew a little about the Medici family bankers and some of their influence on the arts and sciences. I had no idea how extensive it actually was. And, their influence in the Roman Catholic Church.

Janette_M

Guide was on time. She seemed somewhat disorganized but gave a great overview of the Pitti and Medici family before we entered the museum

Take your walking shoes along... it is a huge gallery. Also advisable to book the combo ticket for the gardens.
