We are currently staying in Caserta for 2 months so we are taking our time to visit . We went to the palace twice : one time to visit the gardens and another one, to visite the castle itself. cost : 15 euros per person for the castle and the gardens. The gardens: We went their on a very hot day and it was refreshing. It is well kept. Of course, you can't walk on the grass for obvious reasons, if you do you will be whistled at by the surveillance guy. We chose to walk all the way up to the waterfalls but you can rent a electric bycicle or take a shuttle. We chose to walk uphill and then we went on the right, in the english garden. (We even walked barefeet their, an amazing feeling. ) It smelled so good outside ! (3 hours walk, slow paced and we didn't see everything. You really need to take your time, it's extremely relaxing) the Castle: the architecture is magnificent especially the entrance , the big hallway. The rooms are beautiful, there are not many furnitures. What you'll see the most is the architecture, the embellishment, lots of paintings... You don't get to see how people lived in this time or what dresses they wore. You don't get the feeling of the life from before. (which i would love to see )It took us about 2 hours to visit and it was enough for me. I would say that you'd need a whole day to visit the gardens and the palace. Bring food and drinks and eat in the gardens, rest under the trees . The garden is big enough not to be seen by a gard ;)

The palace and gardens Breathtaking Gardens well maintained, beautiful walk very regal. The cascading water fountain is beautiful, photos don’t do it justice. A train or bus ride to Caserta, easy to get too. Make it a whole day event.

It wasn't clear to us on how to get in with the vouchers and the people at the ticket office was just as confused as we were. We had to buy our tickets to get in as a result - the place itself was magnificent only negative was paying twice - it has happened on 3 occasions now that we weren't able to use the downloaded entry vouchers from yourselves

Just the overall opulence of the palace is and was amazing to see how that era lived. We only got to go in one section of the palace..and that was enough..the gardens in back are killer..not sure what was going on for the front tho

We showed up 2 hours before closing and were able to take in most of the palace. Enjoyed the experience of taking in the grandeur of this beautifully detailed architecture. Did not do the gardens but they don’t look well kept so can’t say I thought we missed anything significant.

We arrived as a family of 9 and could not visit the garden, as it turns out the garden's working hours are much shorter. We paid for a full tour and could only see half of it. When we approached the staff, they treated like security guards at a cheap bar. Communicated very disrespectfully We were disappointed with everything. Even the entrances to the manor are heavily neglected.

Make sure to have your tickets with bar code on each one. Not a page with one bar code for all. Otherwise they say it is not a ticket.

The Royal palace at Caserta is worth a visit. We had entry tickets for a timed entry and hired an audio guide. The palace's royal apartments are spectacular and very well presented. The audio guide was disappointing, consisting mainly of a list of works in each room and who did them. I would have liked to hear more of the 'story' of the palace and the royal families who lived there. The garden is also worth visiting. It is huge but you can hire a cycle to get you the 2.5 km to the top fountain in a series of beautiful pools, weirs and fountains. We travelled on the train from Naples and were able to see the royal apartments and garden comfortably in three hours. We did not have time to visit the English garden, for which you need another ticket. The station is conveniently located opposite the castle. Wear comfortable shoes for all the walking you will do and perhaps take a picnic to enjoy in the grounds, although the palace does have a cafe.

Palace and gardens were magnificent. The Palace was much bigger than we thought. A walk in the gardens early in the morning was fabulous with secret monuments everywhere. Recommend the shuttle bus to go to the top of fountains and walk around and down. Unfortunately our ticket timing was not as we ordered but later and you need all the time you can get to see everything.
