Board with local cured meats and cheeses with hand-baked bread - the meal opens with a wide variety of local cured meats and cheeses. They are served along with warm bread, hand-baked by the wise hands of professional bakers.
Bolognese tortellini - tortellini is a fresh pasta, stuffed with different types of meat and parmesan cheese. Usually they are served in meat broth, but our guests will have the opportunity to choose among different options for garnishing their tortellini!
Bolognese cotoletta - veal meat served with a rich sauce made with cream and parmesan cheese, and topped with smoked ham. The traditional recipe requires that the meat is fried, then sunk in meat broth. This is the trick which makes it so incredibly soft. Finally, it is briefly baked in the oven and served covered in melted cheese and ham.
Brazadela - a traditional cake prepared in a doughnut-shape. A very old preparation coming from peasants’ cuisine. Since its origins, the recipe has been passed from mothers to their kinds, in order to preserve its simplicity and tastiness, for a delicate and unique taste.
Espresso coffee - it is the inevitable conclusion of every Italian proper meal. We offer it in a historical coffee shop, accompanied with artisanal whipped cream.

Our Bologna food tour will escort you in the discovery of Bologna and its history through the classical dishes of Emilia-Romagna traditions. We will begin with a rich appetizer composed by local cured meats and warm, hand-baked bread. Then we will have classic tortellini or tagliatelle, impossible to miss when in Bologna. A typical fried meat with cream, parmesan cheese and smoked ham. If you want to know the best food in the city before joining our Bologna food tour, check our blog post. The meal and the Bologna food tour end with a slice of cake (or an artisanal gelato) and an espresso. This is a walking food and wine tour, ideal for exploring Bologna with eyes and palate. Giulia was our lovely guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Made the tour relaxing, but very informative.
Our guide was Antonio and he was very nice. He also threw in but of knowledge of the area we were in. The tour was a bit less structured than I had thought it would be. Basically the guide takes you to a few bakeries (new and old)- and let’s you pick out whatever you want. I wish there was a bit more history of each food and two of the foods (panettone & pralines) that were listed I did not see in any of the bakeries as an option to try.
We had booked a tour with Daniele, but our guide was Ana. She was a lovely person but appeared to be shy. She did not keep up a lively conversation about Florence, the food, or anything. It was not at all like previous food tours we have taken. The restaurants we visited were intimate and family owned. That was the best part of the tour.
The tour is perfect to start a trip in Torino. Caroline was not only a guide, she gives us the feeling of being very welcomed guest. She gave good recommendations for restaurants and bars and she was an entertaining and charming hostess.
Alessia was a wonderful guide, who explained a lot about food and local culture. Highly recommended specially when you planned a short visit in Bari. Food tours are the best way to learn about local culture and this tour was an excellent choice!!!
