Canal Grande

The most fascinating waterway of the world! The Canal Grande is the main water corridor of Venice. It is more than 4 km long and its banks are lined with more than 200 magnificent buildings which belonged to Venetian nobles and the Doge (Head of the Venetian republic). Venetian aristocrats used them as showrooms for their products and activities. Ships came from all over the world to trade their exotic products in front of these magnificent buildings.

Admission Included

Piazza San Marco

(Pass by)

See Saint Mark's Square from an unique view. Be stunned in front of the Doge's Palace and Golden Basilica

Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute

(Pass by)

The first thing that strikes a viewer is how imposing the church is, strategically placed at the entrance of the Grand Canal looking out onto the rest of the city in every direction, thanks to its circular shape. Longhena chosed the circular shape with the intention of offering a crown to the Madonna, with all its statues, buttresses and scrolls magnifying the pomposity of its architecture.

Peggy Guggenheim Collection

(Pass by)

One of the most important art collections in the world. Peggy Guggenheim, originally from New York, arrived in Venice in 1949 and began to satisfy art addiction buying this wonderful building where she displayed invaluable artworks to the world. The beautiful terrace you see is where Guggenheim sun-bathed regularly looking onto the Grand Canal.

Gallerie dell'Accademia

(Pass by)

Founded in 1750, the Academy of Fine Arts was once the place where young aspiring artists learned painting, sculpture and architecture. The Accademia art gallery became a true stronghold for the preservation of many paintings in the city. Moreover, a decision was taken to privilege those works by Venetian painters from 1300 to 1700, and today, in fact, the Galleries exhibit masterpieces by the likes of Bellini, Giorgione, Tiziano, Tintoretto, Carpaccio, Veronese, Tiepolo and many others

Ponte di Rialto

(Pass by)

It comes from the Latin “rivus altus”, deep canal, referring to the Grand Canal. Dating back to 1180, it was initially a series of boats with wooden planks placed on top. It was then built in wood resting on stilts. By unifying the two parts of the city on either side of the Grand Canal in a single arch movement, the Rialto Bridge has become the symbol of Venice’s unity and uniqueness

I was so disappointed as there was drizzling and two guys with umbrellas covering all my sights. Was not at all impressed with the scenes as we were taken into small dirty looking canals and got back in 15 minutes. Very very disappointed as we travelled so many miles excited to ride in venice gondolas and came back with unhappy memories

Have an app that works, waste of money - agent barely spoke english and we had to go back and ask him for the boat tickets - a dosgraceful misleading sale....

Arpitkumar_P

It was very bad experience. I recommend people, such ticket is included in public transport ticket/pass. You don't need to buy these tickets, it's not worth it & waste of money. If you look for gondola(small traditional boat) ride with 3-4 person, you need to go personally there & you ask gandolian. (~80€)

The mobile audio guide was very helpful and interesting to discover the Grand Canal. A self-boat tour totally recomended: cheap and interesting.

I really enjoyed this self-activity! The digital audio guide works perfectly and so you can discover the amazing history abou the Grand Canal and its fascinating Palace.

Informative audio but the issuer should clearly state it is for use with the public transport boats. With this ticket, we were double booked on the overpacked Venetian Vaporettos. Due to that the app should also be offered for a lesser fee without the ticket for the boat since many tourists to Venice purchase the boat tickets as a necessity to get around from the airport, train station, parking lots and so on.

wondeful tour. Fantasic Gran Canal. Good Commentary. I loved it.whith my family and all my friends..

The boat ride was wonderful itself, but we were not happy with our experience with Venice Tours. We paid extra to have the audio option to learn more about the buildings etc while on the tour. You have to go find their office to pick up your tickets (good luck, it's hard to find, and they're not good at giving directions to it), and to download the app for the audio portion. Earbuds aren't included, which wasn't a big deal, but when it came time to use the app it didn't work. Then when I contacted Chase (where I purchased the experience), they wouldn't refund me the audio portion of our tickets because Venice Tours wouldn't approve it. I wasn't even asking for a full refund. I just wanted to refund the portion that didn't work. I was still willing to pay the 7.50 Euro per ticket. Very frustrating experience.

Seeing homes from boat on canal was amazing. The audio was informative and worked well. We had plenty of time to see all.

Yikes! This great idea is not ready for public use. Instructions were sent in 5 separate pdfs. and were difficult to figure out, especially as one pdf was in Italian, not English. The site crashed continually throughout the day. No map was provided so it was guesswork to find the featured places. The descriptions of each place were brief. We emailed and phoned repeatedly for help, which was given but required us to wait each time. Halfway through the "tour", we quit and changed our day plan. I asked for a partial refund but was declined; the tour operator explained that I "already had enjoyed the experience"!
