I monti delle Madonie con le cime ricoperte di foglie di vite, aree boschive e paesini incastonati, offrono un'istantanea della vita rurale siciliana. San Mauro, un grazioso borgo medievale, si trova a 1015 metri sopra il livello del mare. Da qui potrai godere di un panorama mozzafiato sulle valli sottostanti. Avrai a disposizione circa un'ora per ammirare l'antica architettura e curiosare tra i piccoli negozi, prima di andare in un tipico ristorante nel villaggio di Karsa. Saranno servite alcune specialità locali durante uno spettacolo di cucina con la signora Rosa, per poi accomodarci per cena e ascoltare un po' di musica siciliana.

As the other reviewers say this is a fantastic experience which will bring a smile to your face and fill your belly at the same time. Roberta is a diamond, there’s nothing she doesn’t know about Sicily, speaks perfect English too. I thoroughly recommend this excursion.
Roberta was a simply amazing guide and being from the local area having grown up and lived in this remote village her passion and love for the heritage and its people and food and customs was contagious. The dinner itself after the wonderful tour through the village was such fun - full of dancing and laughter and do not think you will be allowed to sit down and relax - Pedro will have you up dancing and singing the night away!! I LOVED it.
We loved this half day trip to San Mauro Castelverde and Contrada Karsa. Roberta was our guide, she is a lovely talented lady. She speaks very well English and she has many stories about the area we visited, she grew up there. We met briefly with her family too, lovely people! The bus tour to San Mauro is full of breath taking views, it's very nice break after the beaches in Sicily. San Mauro is on the top of the hill, and it's a very pretty little village with about 2000 people which is roughly 30 families she said. The place has few local stores and they only sell local products. We also tried some amazing local cakes (free of charge) which was so delicious that we ended up buying some more for our friends. We also visited 2 different churches with big history, and both of them were lovely inside and out. After our trip to San Mauro we headed to Karsa for a local dinner. A very nice local lady presented us some amazing sicilian recepie. They have there a lovely kitchen where they show all the steps of some sicilian starters, it was an amazing experience. Obviously we had those starters and other amazing sicilian dishes with a very nice house wine, and while we were there we had 2 amazing musicians playing various Italian music, very nice people!! We had a little dance too! It was the best and unique trip we had in Sicily. I recommend it to everyone visiting Cefalu to take this trip. We left 4PM and arrived home around 11PM. We loved every step of it! Well done Roberta! 😀
The best tour we had in Cefalu. Roberta, the tour guide is simply amazing, the whole tour is absolutely mind blowing. The food and music were fantastic too, great atmosphere. PLS don't miss it. We are so glad we booked it.
I love this tour! I came all the way from palermo to be picked up in cefalu for this tour. luckily i had another tour guide to sort out my pick up points and taxis etc before as there were so many people so much shambles but at the end the tour guide was attentive to me and sorted out my appointment with my taxi etc. That place is quite cold so bring a jacket. we went to visit st mauro in a village and went for cooking demo and dinner. The musician guy I think I was most impressed with he played with heart and was eager to make people happy all night long. The food is brillant. I tried some new food. I absolutely love the prickly pear and cactus! my new delicacy favourites! I really would like to enquire about some cooking classes actually! I ended up buying the olive oil they had on sale as its absolutely gorgeous! xx
