Apparently, many different people can be your guide and cook. In our case, the lovely older lady did not hardly speak or understand any English, and therefore we got very little information about Sicilian cooking, culture etc. After the market tour, we went to two, since one was closed, which took over 90 minutes, the Cesarina did all the cooking by herself and choose how everything would be prepared. During the meal, all 4 of us had to share one bottle of wine, again selected by the Cesarina, otherwise there was water. Our experience did not match up with the description of the tour or.many of the other reviews. The food was simple but good,, however for $150 per person it was way over priced.

If you are looking for an authentic home cooked meal of your taste, look no further. Ceserina is a wonderful cook who grew up in Palermo learning the recipes of her mother and grandmother. She took us step by step through the cooking process, explaining Sicilian traditions in her broken English.
