Absolutely amazing wine and a great experience all round. Our sommelier Sir King was knowledgeable and generous. We were especially wowed by a bottle of red named “tears of Jesus” and bought much wine home with us! The 3 course lunch was ok, with the highlight being the cheese and charcuterie platter. Nadia took us on a small tour around the estate with a new vineyard of 5 years (most of their land are up on Vesuvius) and concluded the experience. In all, this is a fantastic winery with a very friendly vibe. Highly recommend!
We visited Bosco de Medici as part of a tour and really enjoyed it. Clemente gave us a quick tour of the vineyard on a golf cart. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Our tastings were with Anthony, who we found to be extremely knowledgeable, engaging and funny. We tried many different wines, and each came with a detailed explanation of how it is made. We can’t wait for our case of wine (consisting of 4 different wines) to arrive back at home! We didn’t particularly love the lunch, but if I’m being honest, we weren’t there for the food. A wonderful experience overall.
I had limited expectations for this visit - it was included as part of a trip to Pompeii - but our multigenerational family of 6 (including a 4-yr-old and 6-yr-old) had a lovely time. The wine tasting was fun and declicious, and the lunch was a perfect combination of typical Neopolitan foods. They prepared special children's portions of spaghetti and sauce and we ended the visit with a golf-cart tour of the vinyards. It was low key, lovely and just right after our long morning in the ruins.
We would never have known about this fabulous place, if our driver from Sorrento Silver Star Tours hadn’t recommended it to us. It’s a little gem of a restaurant and you can choose between THREE different tasting menus, the cheapest being €40. We chose this one as we simply liked the food menu! It’s a very modern, clean restaurant with all their bottles of wine visible and available to buy as you walk in. You’re greeted with a delicious glass of Vesuvius spumante as you’re seated at your table, with four wine glasses ready for the tasting. You receive a bruschetta starter, followed by an antipasti of meats & cheese, whilst the sommelier offers you your first two wines, a rosé and a white. Our sommelier, Matteo, was very informative with an excellent sense of humour. He spoke to us in English clearly, but I did practise my Italian with him too! Then we received a delicious pasta with a rich tomato sauce and our two reds, both very different from each other. Matteo even gave us a cheeky extra taster of another white wine, much richer than the crisper first one. You then receive a small lemon cake pudding with fruit and their own limoncello. After Matteo had informatively gone through the wines we could buy, and also have them shipped to England by the case (min of six), we went on a mini vineyard wine toir in a golf buggy. We were shown where they held weddings there, the grapes growing on the wines, told about the history of the Medici family who stated the vineyard and also shown a new excavation of Pompeii on the site. It was such good value and an amazing experience - we were there for about two hours and they don’t rush you.
During a stay at the Bosco de Medici resort earlier this month my wife and I treated ourselves to a tour of the Winery followed by a long lunch in the restaurant. Having been able to offload the children for the day thanks to the kindness of my mother-in-law we were able to relax and enjoy an excellent and informative tour by Clement whose command of English was matched only by his courtesy and enthusiasm. Of course, whilst studying the vines and the terroir is enjoyable the finest pleasure to be had is a tasting. We started on the Winery's Prosecco and moved slowly through their repertoire of wines over a delightful multi-course lunch aided and abetted by Matteo, the Senior Sommelier, who provided informed insights not only about the Winery's produce but about Italian wines generally and their most suitable food matches. By the conclusion of the afternoon I was poorer in money, having purchased several cases of wines to be shipped home, but richer for the experience which will live long in my memory and surpasses anything I had experienced on various Winery excursions in South Africa, Australia or France.
This is a lovely winery, beautiful setting Our hotel manager organised it for us and included 3 course lunch(simple but nice) and tasted 4 different wines We were also given a tour of the vineyards on a golf cart, which was lovely. It's a lovely experience and would recommend it .
