See the East and West portions of the sea and city was amazing. Pompeii was very enlightening and amazing part of history.

Naples isn't an attractive city, full of graffiti and crazy drivers and pedestrians. However the pick up and tour were very well organized. The tour guide made Pompeii come alive. The hike around Pompeii was strenuous but the guide took great care and paid close attention to all the participants. Wish there was more free time.

Interesting, informative but lots of walking. Didn’t like the fact that we changed guides in the middle of tour.

Maria was a knowledgeable tour guide. She was very informative, especially regarding Pompeii. My issue is with the pick-up process. The dock area had too many tour operators and we would have appreciated a VIATOR sign displayed prominently so that we can locate our tour rep. It was very stressful looking for our contact amid hundreds of passengers who disembarked from the cruise ship at the same time. Once in the van, we drove about 20 minutes before the driver picked up our tour guide at the first attraction. We would have appreciated having the tour guide greet us at the port and explain the tour at the outset.

The initial pick up was dead on time but then there was a period of about 20 minutes whilst we were sorted into different language groups. Again upon reaching Pompeii there was a little confusion. However, our guide was excellent and we had a wonderful tour. Pompeii is amazing - so large and well preserved. Don’t miss it.

I had a half day city tour and visit to the ruins of Pompeii. We were picked up at the Cruise ship terminal at 8AM and whisked off, without an explanation, to a street in Naples. We waited on the bus on this street until finally another tour bus arrived and we were told that the English speakers were to change to the other bus. Little explanation was provided by our guide Maria as to the plan. We had to ask her what the plan for the day was and she begrudging told us bits and pieces. City tour was only so so, very little description of what we were seeing and not great views. More people arrived for the tour during the bus ride when finally more explanation was given for the plan for the day. We finally arrived at Pompeii One at 11 AM; the tour guide was more engaged at Pompeii but once again we waited around for 30 minutes prior and 40 minutes after the tour. Our half day tour in the end was 6 & 1/2 hours, longer than I expected and this was due to all the waiting and picking up more people along the way. One couple was to take the full day tour but cancelled the 2nd half of their tour as we were so late in arriving at Pompeii; they were afraid they would miss the ships departure. I am glad I got to Pompeii but was disappointed in the mechanics of the tour. It was not fluid and there was a lot of wasted time.

Getting to the tour was chaotic. We had to ride one van then transfer to another one. The guides were not friendly, at all. Once we got to Pompeii, you had to speed walk to keep up with the guide, as she didn’t look back for the group. The tour itself was good and the guide was knowledgeable. Leaving and getting to our bus was chaotic, as they divided groups since some were booked for additional time. Again, the guides acted like they’d never done it before. If you have any mobility issues, this is NOT your tour.

The tour itself would have been fine but they left my handicapped husband stranded when we stopped to get pastries and they wouldn’t go back and get him. The tour guide was rude and unaccommodating and we were forced to leave the tour and take a taxi back to the ship, I have already requested a full refund and sent a note about her rude attitude.

I've given this tour a 5 star review as the actual tour of Naples and Pompeii were excellent so the problems we had should not bring the rating down as it was nothing to do with the actual guide. The problem we had was that a taxi driver was supposed to collect us from the cruise port and drop us off at a meeting point where we would join up with another 10 or 12 guests. The taxi driver wasn't there on time, albeit he was only about 7 or 8 minutes late, but it was enough to make our tour start in chaos. We were there before the 8am meeting time, looking round the numerous name signs which the drivers hold up. When we couldn't find our name we began to think we were in the wrong spot. Luckily we hung around and sent a message via the Viator app to the tour company to ask if we were at the correct meeting place. When the taxi driver did turn up he had our name scrawled in small letters on a bit of paper which he wasn't even holding up so you could read it as he was busy checking his phone. There were 2 other guests to be picked up from our cruise ship but they were nowhere to be seen. It later transpired that they had got off the ship at 0730 so by the time 8am came round they thought they were in the wrong meeting place so wandered off along the road to where other cruise ships were docked. I feel that had the taxi driver been on time, or early as they usually seem to be, then the tour would have got off to a great start. If you are booking I would suggest letting them know the name of your ship. Our meeting point was directly outside the gates of the port... just wait there and the driver will find you... don't be tempted to wander off! We finally joined the rest of the group at about 9am outside a church in the middle of Naples. From then on the tour was excellent, albeit a bit rushed due to us joining late. The guide was excellent - I can't remember her name but she had brown very curly hair and a peach umbrella so I hope the tour company gives her some credit as she was really very good. Pompeii was amazing - I have been before but it is still as interesting as last time, probably more so as our guide seemed to tell us even more than the one years ago did. If you haven't been to Pompeii you really should go - you have to see it to believe it. Please don't let my taxi driver story put you off booking this trip as it was probably a one-off. In hindsight I think the taxi driver was probably having some sort of personal drama going on as his mind didn't seem on it and he was checking his phone a lot. The actual tour, when we joined it, was excellent.
