The excursion was incredible, it was like being on another planet. I elected the pick-up from hotel, and was picked up Marina nearby where I stayed. Marina was punctual, an excellent driver, and most of all incredibly knowledgeable. Marina shared a lot of great information about Etna and surrounding areas and made great recommendations. Fabrizio, our guide on the hike, was great, knew a lot of volcanology, and was patient with the group, especially me who chose not to finish the entire trek up. I hung back and explored some of the craters Marina had recommended. I had an amazing time and would recommend.

Our trip was really great. It was well-planned, starting with Marina picking us up on time in a comfortable minivan from Catania. Marina was nice and told us interesting things about Etna's past eruptions and how far they reached. If you don't have the right shoes, don't worry. You can rent sturdy boots at the cable car station, which is a good idea. Climbing Etna can be a bit tough with rocks and steep spots, so good shoes are a must. It only costs 6 euros, which is reasonable. Our guide, Emiliano, was fantastic. He was funny and knew a lot about Etna. He led us up the mountain at a good pace, taking breaks to tell us about the area. Remember, this trip depends on the weather. So, make sure to bring clothes you can quickly put on, like a warm jacket, as it can get cold and windy up there. During the hike, we got to see different craters from past eruptions and recent lava flows. If the sky cleared a bit, the views were amazing. You feel really high up! In a nutshell, this adventure was unforgettable and a must-do for anyone looking for an amazing trip. After the tour ended, Marina waited for us and drove us back to Catania. She also gave us suggestions for places to visit and restaurants to eat in the city, which was really useful.

The guide and the driver are amazing! Give them a pay rise! Pay them double! The driver was prompt and good messaging - the Etna guide was an expert and was knowledgable

Spectacular tour, so much fun! It was not as physically demanding as I expected, and the view was incredible. Our tour guide made frequent breaks to explain the science to us. I would also highly recommend booking hotel pickup in Catania. The driver was so lovely and gave me lots of recommendations on food and local culture.

The hiking on the Etna was absolutely fantastic. The guide, Antonio, was very professional and friendly. He speaks perfect French and was keen to answer any question we had (we had a lot of them). Marina, our driver, came to pick us up on time and communication was very smooth and clear. She contacted us in advance and gave us great advices/feedback on equipment, weather, etc. During the drive up and down the Etna, she shared very interesting stories and facts about the region. She was as professional as friendly. Thank you for sharing your love for Sicily !

Debated long and hard about going up Etna due to a limited budget. Scouring the internet for its many tour options this tour stuck out to us because of its packed itinerary and reduced price compared to others. After much deliberation we chose this tour of hiking to the summit with a pick up and drop service. Great communication with the tour guide (Eduardo/Edo) and our pick up service (Serena) the night before with clear advice about bringing lunch and appropriate attire. Pick up was seamless and Serena went above and beyond to make us comfortable, chatty, friendly, and all together a lovely person. We arrived promptly by 9 and was greeted by Edo and the team at the cable car stop. I was wearing running shoes which were not appropriate for this climb, at €6 I rented a pair of comfortable and much needed walking boots from the cable car shop. We were also given helmets and the option of a jacket if needed. We were then told to wait in the cafe area, ensuring that we had eaten and drank enough, whilst the other guests arrived. At 9:30 we set off, cable car tickets sorted for us and easy ride from there on. At the other end of the cable car, we regrouped and were split dependent on preferred language (English, French, Italian). We then began our ascent up Etna, stopping frequently to ensure our whole group were okay to proceed (water, picture ops and many interesting facts). The ascent itself was not too taxing, any average fitness level will be okay for this climb. Positively, Serena was waiting at the cable car point for any that may have suffered due to altitude/fatigue, although as far as we know, all guests were fine. We saw craters, lava caves and many stunning views, even being so lucky as to see a small gas eruption. We stopped for lunch at 3000m (our highest point), which was definitely needed due to the steep climb! For anyone worried about altitude (as my partner was), try not to be concerned, at 3000m there was only a slight tight chest but nothing to be worried about! Then the descent began. We covered many of the 2002 craters (aptly named the button eruption), with many picture opportunities (with Edo taking many of these!). Now for the fun bit. We descended over what can only be described as volcanic sand dunes, guessing around 300m. My partner was not so sure on her feet but Edo was incredible. Quick to guide us on the best technique to get down (sprinting!!) we then went arm and arm the rest of the way and it was so much fun! A small walk got us back to the cable car and from then it was plain sailing. Great communication with Serena meant we were back in our mini van when all of our group were ready, and off back to Catania. Again, Serena went above and beyond, advising us of things to do in the evening and answering many of our questions about Catania. She truly is an asset to the company. Thanks again to Serena and Edo for making this trip better than we could have ever imagined! Jack and Ella 🥰

Amazing experience, including a free tasting of local products, I strongly recommend this tour! We could hike along the last lava flow of May 2023, still hot!

This was simply an amazing experience. The trip was well organised, with Marina picking us up on time in a very comfortable Mercedes mini-van from Catania. Marina was friendly an informative on the way to Etna, and stopped occasionally to let us take in the views. At the cable car station, you can hire trekking boots, which I think are a must. The climb up Etna can be rocky and fairly steep in places, so good grip is needed under foot. And at 6 euros to hire, it’s very reasonable. The guide Eduardo was great. Funny but also very knowledgeable about Etna. He set a steady pace trekking up Etna, the frequent stops to allow people to rest whilst he told us things about the area we were in. Obviously this type of trip depends on the weather, so make sure you take clothing you can quickly put on, fleece, jacket, etc. as it can get windy and cold up there. On the trek you visit various craters from different eruptions and also the more recent lava flow. And if the clouds clear slightly the views are amazing. You are so high up! Overall an unforgettable experience and an absolute must excursion IMO!!!

We really enjoyed our experience. We arranged for pick up at our accommodation and everything was easy to do. All tickets were taken care of, the guides were very knowledgeable about Etna, friendly, and experienced. This was one of the only summit tours that allowed children 7 and up. We hiked with our two, ages 11 and 8, and they were able to make it to the summit with the rest of the group. It was definitely challenging and not for inexperienced hikers, but our children have completed similar hikes. Wear hiking boots or solid trail shoes. The most memorable part of our trip to Catania!

They tell you to meet at one place and give you three times. They never showed up. We managed to track them down at a completely random bar near the cable cars, but they had left without us 20 minutes early. They were unapologetic. We missed the tour and are working on our refund (they don’t give refunds directly). And it wasn’t just us - there were others standing around the designated meeting place waiting for them. Good news is you can hike the craters alone and it’s really cool. If you want to do a guided tour, there appear to be a lot of other highly competent providers. Not these guys.
