Tempio di Giove Capitolino

The Temple of Jupiter dominates the north side of the Forum, with Mount Vesuvius scenically rising behind. When the colony was founded (80 BC), the temple underwent a radical renovation and became a real Capitolium with the three cult statues of Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, which looked like those of the Capitolium in Rome, placed on a high base so as to make them visible to whoever passed in the Forum square.

Admission Included

Macellum

The Macellum consists of a tuff quadriporticus with a hall for worship in an elevated position on the eastern side, in line with the entrance. The copies of two marble statues, a female and a male armed, are found on the niches of the side wall, together with the fragment of a larger statue, probably pertaining to an emperor, Titus or Vespasian, indicating how this area was intended for the imperial cult. To its left is a room for meetings of a sacred board and to the right a large room with a masonry counter perhaps for fish to be sold.

Via dell’Abbondanza

Via dell’Abbondanza was the ancient main street (decumanus maximus) of ancient Pompeii, which ran across the city in the direction east/west from the Forum to the Porta Sarno. Stabian Baths (Terme Stabiane)

The Baths are located behind the Temple of Jupiter and date back to the years immediately after the founding of the colony of veterans by General Silla (80 BC). Women's and men's quarters had separate entrances. The men's section presents an apodyterium (dressing room), used also as a tepidarium (for medium temperature baths), frigidarium (for cold baths) and calidarium (for hot baths). Like many buildings in Pompeii, the baths were heavily damaged during the earthquake of 62 AD.

My plane was late and trip advisor canceled and charged me full amount over $700 and refused partial refund. They wouldn’t even reason with me.

Choosing this excursion was the highlight of our trip. The boat ride, small group of people, and our captain made it completely enjoyable. You should be aware that this trip puts you onto the Isle of Capri for about 4.5 hours. I was surprised that we needed to pay 15 euros each to get transportation to sights on the island. You have two options when you get there (public or private bus) but they strongly push the private which costs 15 euros. Also, the town of Capri is a bit chaotic and confusing when you only have a few hours to figure it out. With all that said, we had a fantastic time and our Captain did an exceptional job.

Not recommended. I have never written a review before but felt I had to in order to spare others the frustration my family and I experienced. Although the boat itself and crew were lovely and comfortable, the island of Capri a must if visiting Sorrento, the tour company itself could not have been more disorganized. The trip is advertised as an 8 hour day including transportation to and from harbor from the hotel. However, it turned out to be a 12 hour day! 1.5 hours of waiting, in the beginning, to get on the boat (as other buses arrived late with other tour members) and 1.5 hours of waiting at the end. We first had to wait for 3 additional boats to arrive, then we had to wait for them to organize transportation back to hotels. Our hotel was literally 2 miles away. We could have walked back faster than they transported us. It felt as though everyone there was a new employee and no one knew what to do as several boats were 45 minutes late in returning. I would not use this company again and would not recommend.

We were picked up from Vico train station and went to the pier. Once we made it to the pier it seemed quite chaotic, but eventually got onto our boat. We set off for Capri, going around the island and stopping to snorkel. After that we were dropped off on Capri and had several hours to explore the island. The tour was great, and I've done several of these around the world. However, i think the price is too high. We got off to snorkel once and then were dropped onto the island. For this amount of money I just expected a little more.

The tour was quite nice, but it has one major problem. The people who book the tour are a mix of old and young ones. Most of the times, the old people do not want to stop at the swimming spot. That is what happened with me. They didn't stop at the swimming spot even though my mother and I wanted to stop. Because a majority had said no. Similarly, we couldn't go to the Blue grottos because our Captain had said that it wasn't much to see and convinced again a majority against it. Therefore, while I enjoyed my boat ride to and fro, I didn't enjoy this experience with Travel etc.

Great Day . We spent most of the day on the water, driver was good. We were a little lost when we arrived at Capri, do a little home work before arriving .

Overall we had a great day trip with Travel Etc. They arranged to pick us up near our hotel and take us to the boats. Everything was on time and while there was a little wait to check in and be shown to our boat, it didn't take too long. My two friends and I ended up on the boat with one other family. After our time on Capri, we wanted to swim more than the family did and negotiated with our captain to hit a few swimming spots before we headed back to Sorrento. Our captain, Giacomo, ended our boat trip with some of his mom's homemade limoncello which was the best we tried in all of Amalfi. All in all it was a good trip and would recommend. Capri itself was hot and overcrowded on a July afternoon but that's not Travel Etc.'s fault.

My husband and I did this tour as part of our honeymoon to Italy, our inital trip got canceled and we were able to get into this one last minute. Its a small group. They picked us up from our hotel which was great. We got to swim in the beautiful blue water. Went around Capri pointing out the green grotto & stopping around the famous arch to let everyone get pictures. The blue grotto was closed due to high tide. Once to Capri we got almost 4 hours to roam around; was slightly disappointed they didn't give any information on the island prior, the port it very busy and crowded we found a restaurant to eat but their is a track that actually takes you up the hill, def do this if you go, 2 Euro both ways.

We enjoyed this trip. It was more personal than the other boat trip we did with only ten of us on board. It was also better organised with less of a wait at the harbour. One tip is to remember that you will swim before you have your free time in Capri so you may want to have a change from your wet swim wear! We had lunch then went up the funicular for an ice cream at the top. The time on the island was quite long, but doing both Capri town AND Anacapri would have been too ambitious. If you like it, consider coming back another day...

We booked this tour before our trip to go to Capri island from Sorrento thinking this is the only way to get to the island. Once we arrive in Sorrento, we realized there are many other options like renting out private boat which would be on our time and schedule. A car was supposed to pick us up from our hotel to the dock. We got an email the night before as to what time to be ready for pickup. We waited for more than an hour until the car showed up. It was very inconvenient considering it would have taken us less time to head to the dock on our own. Once we got to the dock, we had to wait longer until our boats were announced. At this point we have wasted 3 hours of time that could have been spent exploring Capri. Unfortunately, we had lot of older people on our boat and they didn't want music, didn't want to drink, didn't want to swim. This was extremely annoying as one of the reasons we were interested in this tour was based on the reviews we read at the time of booking about the snorkling, appetizers, drinks, music and swimming time in the grotto. They did not do a good job with separating the old people from younger people in order to ensure everyone will enjoy their time. We actually heard the same issue from many others once we got to Capri. All in all, it was a smooth ride to Capri and back. They did give us some chips as appetizers but that was it. A bit of description of what we are looking at from the boat staff. If I go again, I will definitely get my own boat so I can have the freedom of enjoying my time with my preferences.
