I new basic things about Colosseum and surrounding area but I intentional I did not read in detail so I can learn from the guide period. Eleanore was informative, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor (to my liking). There's a lot of walking and climbing steps so keep that in mind. Our group had 12 people and it was a good size --more would be problematic in my opinion.

The last time I took a tour in Rome it was through a cruise line and I spend less than 15 minutes in the Colosseum. With this tour (post cruise) we had plenty of time to stroll through and see the Colosseum with the majority of the tour on the inside. Our guide, Rich, was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. His explanations of what we were looking at and the history behind it was outstanding! Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum were great to see but the bulk of tour was justifiably the Colosseum. Highly recommend this tour!
