Worths a visit as you can access both a small museum and a guided tour to the synagogue. There are guided tours in English and Italian every one hour per language, included in the price of the ticket. I think 11 euros for a ticket is too much but the personnel is very polite so ok 🤷🏼‍♀️

Loved seeing the Jewish museum and touring the synagogue. It was beautiful and the guide gave us great information about the Jewish experience during WWII. The items in the museum were very interesting. Also Toured the Jewish quarter - very busy on a Sunday..

The Synagogue was spectacular. The history of the Jewish people in Rome dates back to pre-Christians. The area is, of corse old, ( it’s Rome) and very beautiful. Plenty of small cafe’s to get a coffee or a bite to eat in.

Our tour guide Yael provided a clear concise history of Jewish presence in Rome. I had not understood the unique lineage of the Jews of Rome...neither Ashkenazi nor Sephardic, they are Roman Jews. The synagogue is magnificent and only accessible via the tour. The tour also made our self-guided walk through the small ghetto understandable. Look for the “stumble stones” brass paving stones embedded in front of home where Jews had lived before they were rounded up and either murdered or transported to the camps. Also look for the Kosher corner bakery...easy to find by the line in front. Make sure you buy the “pizza ebraica”. Jewish pizza, a sweet dried fruit and almond dense cake.

Sarah was awesome, a young woman from Montreal Canada, who has excellent history of the Trastevvere Neighborhood of Rome and Jewish Ghetto area. We learned so much and loved every minute of this wonderful free tour. Highly recommend this tour.
