Bitan - Daily Tours

Departing from Cagliari, drive for 2.5-hours in a minivan through the amazing Sardinian countryside towards the northwest of the island.

Alghero

Once arrive in Alghero, you'll board a group boat tour towards Capo Caccia. By boat, you can admire the beauty of this unspoiled territory and quickly visit all of the coasts. The trip takes around 35 minutes, and it's an excellent opportunity to admire the fantastic cliffs from the seaside.

Neptune's Grotto

One of the fascinating natural jewels in the entire Mediterranean basin, the grotto is a veritable geological wonder that attracts over 150,000 visitors per year. It is accessible by sea or on foot via "Escala del Cabirol" ("Billy Goat Stairs'), a set of 660 steps cut into the cliffside. Inside the cave, carved out for millions of years by the water, there is the beautiful La Marmora lake, about 120 meters long, a tribute to Alberto La Marmora, the Italian geographer after whom it takes its name, who first of all explored these shores. All around the lake, you can found numerous columns of stalactites and stalagmites that can reach a height varying from 10 to 15 meters. On the right, you can see, finally, a small beach, once used by the monk seals from the Central Mediterranean, species now extinct.

Lovely caves - quite large and beautiful, little cave- lakes inside. Also very impressive cliffs and the entrance to the cave. Unfortunately, there are large queues to get to the cave (you need to get a ticket at the entrance). And even everyone was squashed together for a long time in a queue without any masks before, as soon as you are inside the cave you must wear a mask. :) Also, most people were from the UK and France, but our guide spoke mostly Italian only, so most people didn't understand anything he was saying. It didn't spoil the trip but still a pity.

We were picked up from our hotel and Matteo drove us 3 hours to the grotto and back. We visited the grotto, had lunch and then toured around the city of Alghero. He gave us some information about the grotto while we were inside and gave us a tour around the city. He was very nice, personable and an excellent guide. We highly recommend doing this tour especially with him!

Went by car and then down the 600+ steps. The walk down the cliffs is probably the best part of the visit. The caves are awesome, but the cliffs more so. Going back up it’s more than 600 steps, so would not advice to the elderly or anyone with young children. One can take a boat trip from Alghero to avoid the steps.

We had a comfortable ride Along with our friendly guide Mateo destination of tour was the Caves of Neptune. The place is so magical beautiful to see and experience. One thing is to offer more bottle water during long tour hours incase customer ran out, other than that We strongly recommend Bitan Tours. Also best to pay a bit more when you book so you can be picked up at your hotel and best to stay in Chia where most of the beautiful beaches aré located (instead of Calgari).

A truly breathtaking experience, we drove to the top of the cliff where you can park and climb down to the cave entrance at sea level. It is an amazing climb along the cliffside, down 600 plus steps. It was very safe and manageable. You are met at the entrance to the cave where you p[ay 12 euros each for a guide tour through the grotto. It is amazing. the hike back up will get your heart rate up; however, there is not need to hurry and the views are spectacular. A hilihght of our trip to Sardinia.

Once again Bitan tours were amazing. This is an outstanding experience from start to finish. The boat trip was fun and as always Junior and Matteo were full of information about the history and made the day special.
