Amalfi Coast

(Pass by)

Magically suspended between the blue sky and the iridescent colored sea, the Amalfi coast seems to be born from the palette of a painter who wanted to use the warmer color gradients for creating a landscape that enchants the visitor at the first shot, giving thrilling experience and such evocative view to doubt, for a moment, it is real. It is the land where the sweet scent of lemon blossoms harmonizes itself with the most aromatic one of the Mediterranean vegetation and the acrid aroma of saltiness; where the brilliant colors of the majolica domes, bougainvillea and carnations pergolas give an evident colored touch to the typical whitewashed houses, clinging to the last offshoots of the Lattari Mounts that plunge dramatically into the sea.

Amalfi

The singular architecture of white houses of Amalfi, the good climate for almost the entire the year, make it a destination for thousands of Italian tourists and foreigners. Amalfi is a town of about 7000 inhabitants, rich in history and art, which gives its name to the homonym Amalfi Coast, famous throughout the world and since 1997, a World Heritage Site UNESCO. Visited by more and for its beauty, Amalfi is a valid target also for gourmets and gourmands, where they were invented the "cannelloni". Its foundation goes back to the Romans; from the ninth century, it was the first of the the Marine Republics and rivaled Pisa, Venice and Genoa for the control of the Mediterranean Sea.

Sorrento

Sorrento is a town overlooking the Bay of Naples in Southern Italy. A popular tourist destination due to its variety of small antique shops and location on the Amalfi Coast, it can be reached easily from Naples and Pompeii as it is at the south-eastern end of the Circumvesuviana rail line. The town is most known for its small shops selling ceramics, lacework and marquetry (woodwork). The Sorrentine Peninsula has views of Naples, Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri. The Amalfi Drive, connecting Sorrento and Amalfi, is a narrow road that threads along the high cliffs above the Tyrrhenian Sea. Ferries and hydrofoils connect the town to Naples, Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Ischia. Sorrento's sea cliffs and luxury hotels have attracted celebrities including Enrico Caruso and Luciano Pavarotti. Limoncello, a digestif made from lemon rinds, alcohol, water and sugar, is produced in Sorrento. Other agricultural production includes citrus fruit, wine, nuts and olives.

Positano

Dramatic, deluxe and more than a little dashing, Positano is the Amalfi Coast's front-cover splash, with vertiginous houses tumbling down to the sea in a cascade of sun-bleached peach, pink and terracotta. No less photo-worthy are its steep streets and steps, flanked by wisteria-draped hotels, smart restaurants and fashionable retailers. A pearl of the Amalfi Coast, it presents itself as a cluster of pastel houses clinging to the steep ledges of the Lattari Mountains, which reflect themselves in the clear sea below, surrounded by an intense fragrance of lemon and bright and vivid colors of bougainvillea. A maze of alleys and steps with small shops displaying the typical products of local crafts, which, together with the undisputed beauty of the landscape, have contributed to make Positano and the Amalfi Coast famous world-wide. We refer to the fresh linen dresses in style "Positano fashion", the leather sandals, the colorful ceramics and the limoncello.

Sorrento Coast

(Pass by)

The Sorrento Coast is a jagged promontory that shores up the southern end of the Bay of Naples. This peninsula of hilly terrain ends abruptly at a cliff that plunges sheerly down to the Mediterranean sea. The entire coastline around Sorrento was a Greek colony during the period of Magna Grecia, the legendary site of Homer's sirens, before being conquered by the Romans who enjoyed the area as a summer playground. It has maintained a reputation as an exclusive resort destination ever since. It boasts a mild climate, gorgeous panoramas and citrus-scented air.

We had a fantastic day visiting Positano and Sorrento and then a great lunch with wine tasting at a vineyard at the base of Mount Vesuvius. Our driver Giovanni was fabulous and made the day a pleasure. I highly recommend this tour

My name is Michael from Boston, MA. I want to let you know what an amazing driver we had with RomeInLimo and Giovanni from Sorrento. He took us on a private tour/drive of the Amalfi Coast on July 22, 2022 for our 10th anniversary and he was a paragon of professionalism. Not only was he friendly, safe, and punctual, he went above and beyond to show all the wonderful sites of the Amalfi Coast and show us the best time. He introduced us to local vendors, took photos for us, sang Italian songs (wonderfully) and made our day of days extra special. I would, and have, recommend him to anyone looking to explore the Amalfi Coast in style and comfort. Excellent trip all around.

There truly are no words to explain our day in Rome, Sorrento & Positano, it was amazing. Fabio, our "driver" & Barbara, our English speaking guide that took us through the Vatican were the reason. Fabio was fabulous. His love and passion for what he does and his love & knowledge of Rome, Sorrento & Positano, is amazing. Fabio took us 2 see all of the sites & recommended the most amazing local restaurant for us to have an authentic lunch. He recommended 2 of the quintessential dishes of Rome, the Cacio e Pepe, a pasta dish made of black pepper & Pecorino Romano cheese, and spaghetti, as well as the Carbonara, an Italian pasta dish made with egg, hard cheese and pork cheek. Both were beyond mazing. He also recommended that we try the mozzarella cheese, it is amazing in Rome, it tastes nothing like mozzarella from the US. This tour is a fabulous way to see all the top sites and to see the city. Barbara took us through the Vatican and she was also fabulous. I highly recommend a guide as it is huge and very overwhelming if you have not been here before. She knew exactly where to go walk us though the 4 galleries & point out all of the highlights, the Sistine Chapel & the Basilica. She also took us to see the basement of the Vatican to see what was down below. If you have time, I would recommend that u climb the stairs of the Basilica so you can view it from the highest point & look down. Again, I can not recommend Fabio & Barbara & this "tour" enough. We will definitely be coming back 2 Rome & planning our time here with Fabio to take us through. Thank u again Fabio, Barbara & Romeintours for making our day more than we ever could have imagined!

Alex was awesome, so personable! We loved him! He took us all along the coast. We wanted to go to a ceramics shop and he brought us to one of the larger ones, it was wonderful! He pointed out all different sights as we drove. Positano was beautiful! We had a great time in Sorrento. Alex told us where to go for a great lunch and to buy lemon cello! He made our day so enjoyable! I will request him next time we are in Naples!

I must admit I was a little apprehensive booking three tours with Rome in Limo, thinking to myself how could a company have so many 5 star reviews. Well I must say Rome in Limo is amazing. if 10-stars was an option I am sure they would have achieved it. It first started out with the amazing service that Jany provided. Every time I had an issue or question Jany responded in a matter of minutes. She was fabulous. We ( four adults) booked three tours as part of a cruise we were taking. We had Alex as our driver in Naples. and Lucio as our guide in Pompeii. They were both fabulous, and were passionate about their areas of expertise. In Rome we had Enrico as our driver and Massimo (by request) as our Vatican Guide. Enrico was very professional and took great care of us. He went out of his way to include all the possible stops in Rome. I had read past reviews about Vatican tours and Massimo received great comments. He did not disappoint. He knew his way around the Vatican like the back of his had, He navigated the crowds and provided us with all the highlights. In Florence we had Fabrizio as our driver and Simona as our guide. Frabrizio was great showing us all the hidden gems in Florence and Simona was full of knowledge on the history of Rome and the paintings and art that we saw. I cannot recommend Rome in Limo enough! Amazing!

Vittorio was fantastic. Professional, kind and helped guiding us, in terms of what would be best to see given our timeframe. Very enjoyable trip and worth the money!

Seeing as there were 10 in our party, we had to take a minivan and a sedan to tour the Amalfi Coast (Positano) to Sorrento and, then, on to Pompeii. I can only remember the name of the driver of our car, Giovanni, but he and the other guide were very knowledgeable and informative. They knew when we needed to leave, which route to best follow, and how long we had to tour each town. It was a beautiful, delightful tour that each of us enjoyed very much - even the teenagers (who were not so happy about the early morning departure time). You cannot go wrong with RomeInLimo! (We, also, used them for our tour of Rome - excellent, as well!)

This was our second time using Rome In Limo (used them 2 years ago, also as cruise excursions). This time we chose to use private tours (rather than their excellent shared cruise excursion services), and we were really happy we chose this. On the first tour, from Naples, we were surprised and thrilled to see we had the same driver as two years ago, Alex! From Civitavecchia, we had Peter who was a fountain of knowledge. Both were complete gentlemen who customized our days to accommodate my Mum who uses a mobility scooter. I would highly recommend using Rome in Limo, and would request Alex and Peter again.
