Be sure to explore the website to plan your visit (you may want to review and/or print a map before your visit). The website has suggestions for visits of several different durations. Seeing da Vinci's codex was really interesting, and the display of Raphael's preliminary drawing and explanation of techniques was fascinating. You can certainly spend a long time here, but can also squeeze it in on a shorter schedule if necessary.

Remarkable collection in architecturally interesting buildings. Beautifully lighted. The Rafael cartoon is marvelous. Wish more information was in English.

Quite near to the main square but hidden away. Arrived for 1000 opening and no queue so peaceful tour. Really interesting mix of internal architecture, superb art collection, sculptures and other items including Da Vinci's codex display. Highly recommended. Took the crypt tour as well worth a look. Several cafes nearby for coffee and reflection after.

This was very interesting. I especially loved the library part and looking at the Da Vinci sketches and drawings. It's worth the time to go there & tour around.

Excellent gallery and museum. You cannot miss this in Milan. Some wonderful painting by the masters plus artefacts and sculptures. The highlight is the Codex Atlantic’s from Leonardo. Highly recommend.

Yes it contain the Codex of Da Vinci, but the book is closed and they display some copies of a few pages from the original book. What is more remarkable is all the art work you can look at in the halls before you get to the liberary where the Codex is displayed.

This was a lovely museum. To have such classic pieces so close was truly remarkable. And being able to view Da Vinci’s codex was truly amazing. I highly recommend paying for the audio guide and taking your time.

I was staying next door to the Pinacoteca so the hotel recommended I visit. I requested an audio guide which was 4 euros and came on an iPad which was cumbersome to carry but visually helpful with pictures, the text and a map. The staff were all very helpful in locating the rooms and there were lots of seats to sit and appreciate the amazing works of art. Seeing the original writings and drawings of Leonardo da Vinci was the final highlight. It was disappointing that the bookshop did not have any books in English on his life and works and very few books in English in general. I would recommend visiting if you are interested in the local artists even if you are not usually into art galleries as this is really something different and very well done.
