Excellent way to see the aqueduct and some of the countryside around Lucca. The cycling is not hard & is probably about 15km in total. All done on bike paths (except a very short stretch of road). Alessandro was an informative and a careful cycle tour leader. Overall an excellent tour.

We had a lovely afternoon with Federica cycling on the city walls, along the aqueduct and in some very pretty/green areas outside the city walls. Federica is a wealth of knowledge and interesting stories (make sure she tells you about Chet Baker's connection with Lucca) and lovely company. Would highly recommend!

This was a spectacular tour, beautiful area, great scenery, perfect distance for our larger family group (8 riders), and Alessandro was an exceptional guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area and subject matter, easy to work with, patient with the kids, and safety conscious. The area itself is amazing, the route very fun and not too challenging, and we got some fabulous family photos up above the aqueduct overlooking town. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing morning touring with Alessandro. He was a fantastic and friendly local guide. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the countryside around Lucca and hearing about the history of the Aqueduct. The bike ride was pleasant and not too strenuous and there is the option to hire an E-bike. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic experience! My husband and I honeymooned in Tuscany and the Architect's Water tour with Alessandro was a true highlight. Got our blood pumping, took in some beautiful sites that we would have otherwise missed if not with a local, and learned more about a city we cannot wait to return to. If you only have one day in Lucca, I highly recommend beginning it with this excursion! You won't regret it!

I was visiting family and took a great trip with Alessandro. He was fantastic -- and took me on a 3 hour ride in an area I never would have found on my own. He not only knows interesting places you won't find on your own, but he also explains the history of Lucca and the surrounding area. I had a great time with him - AND it was a solid workout! Highly recommended.

Great little tour to see and hear about the history of Lucca and the Aqueducts. A nice side trip to nature as well. Took about 3 hours total. Alessandro was very kind and easy going.

We had a very enjoyable day out in the country and away from the crowds in the city. Federica was a good and helpful leader who told us about the acqueducts and other things along the way. We stopped on the way down at a little cafe for beverages and a little snack. This trip is rated 'easy' but I wouldn't because we had to lug our bikes over a freeway overpass and some of the terrain was a little steep.

Well, you get to ride next to a aqueduct but it's not Roman! Built around 1812 it's still kinda cool, but... For a causal bike rider it's OK (except for hauling yourself & maybe your bike up and down the stairs to go over a major highway). I wish there was more diversity in the ride. Our guide was very pleasant and accommodating as she hauled one of our group's bikes over that bridge both ways!

We had the loveliest of days with Alessandro! We met him and got outfitted with bikes and then rode to the aqueduct and into the hills to a beautiful winery where we had a tour, snacks, and wine. Alessandro was fun, easy to be with, and filled us in on the history of the area. The ride was hilly but very doable for a couple of 50-something-year-olds. Just what we were looking for!
